  • Patent number: 8340107
Abstract: VLAN numbering in access networks which bi-directionally connect subscribers and service providers. For an outgoing packet flowing in a direction from a network side to a subscriber side through a network terminator (NT), a port number appearing in a packet header on the network side is not copied by the NT into a header of a corresponding packet applied to the subscriber side, but the NT copies VLAN numbers for the services from the former to the latter packet headers. All services from one specific service provider are delivered to the subscriber through one specific physical port on the subscriber side which corresponds to the port number.

  • Publication number: 20120225725
Abstract: One embodiment of a machine for the detection, tracking, and removal of 1-10 cm sized space debris is described. This machine utilizes a communications channel comprising both software and hardware in order to make use of information from the players of an augmented reality computer game, so as to combine this information with other information from a global network of tracking optical space debris sensors. This approach to solving the problem of 1-10 cm space debris has a number of advantages over prior art. Other embodiments are described and shown.

  • Publication number: 20120111982
Abstract: A roller mill for comminuting brittle grinding stock comprises at least one grinding roller constructed as a loose roller and rotatable about an axis and interacting with a counter-surface such that grinding stock is comminuted between the grinding roller and counter-surface. Horizontally slidable bearing blocks bear the grinding roller and are guided in a frame rotatably about a vertical bearing axis. A pressing device applies an adjustable grinding pressure to the grinding roller via the bearing blocks. At least two resilient compensation elements are associated with each bearing block in order to compensate a skewed position and/or deflection of the grinding roller. The compensation elements are arranged between the frame and the bearing blocks, and, in the plan view of the roller mill, are arranged tangentially to a circle around the vertical bearing axis or constructed in a circular arc around the vertical bearing axis.

  • Patent number: 7634546
Abstract: A communications tool that combines a software application and various communication systems that parallel natural styles of knowledge sharing and problem solving. It merges with normal patterns of relationship to create a seamless and transparent extension of community. By using computer, Internet, telephone, e-mail, and other communications technologies, the present invention brings these communities of practice to a new level of immediacy and relevance—one not encumbered by time or place. The invention is issue-centered versus document-centered, incorporates a leader-controlled structure, which is distributive and transparent, and enables stratification of items to allow multiple and simultaneous uses of the invention (e.g. dynamic FAQ, electronic whiteboard, expert center, committee review tool, etc.). Leaders control through inherited parameters.

  • Publication number: 20090154861
Abstract: A pivot bearing having a first bearing surface of hollow cylindrical design, at least in sections. Guided in the first bearing surface is a second bearing surface of hollow cylindrical design, at least in sections. Rolling bodies are arranged between the bearing surfaces. The pivot bearing also has a cage for guiding the rolling bodies, and a slide block to prevent the cage from slipping. A first grove is formed in the first bearing surface and a second grove is formed in the second bearing surface. The groves are inclined transversely with respect to the running direction of the rolling bodies. the opposite inclination of the groves has the result that, if the spacing between bearing surfaces is neglected, the grooves intersect. The sliding block is guided between the grooves. The cage has a recess that holds the sliding block permitting cage control.
