  • Publication number: 20240318721
Abstract: A seal assembly includes a cap and a seal. The cap includes an engagement structure and a flange. The engagement structure is configured to couple the cap to an enclosure. The flange defines a plurality of openings that are open through a first side of the flange and a second side of the flange. The seal includes a seal body and a plurality of bosses. The seal body engages the second side of the flange and includes a plurality of bosses. Each boss is positioned in a respective opening of the plurality of openings. The seal is compressible against the flange from a relaxed state in which the bosses are flush with the first side of the flange or recessed within the openings and a compressed state in which each boss extends from the respective opening beyond the first side of the flange.

  • Publication number: 20240204367
Abstract: Retention systems are provided for positioning and retaining bus bars relative to battery array terminals within a traction battery pack. The retention systems may include features for urging a bus bar into contact with an array terminal of a battery system. The retention systems may additionally incorporate features for preventing exposure to high voltage areas of the battery system and for directing vent gases toward pack-level venting systems. In some implementations, the bus bar retention features are provided by a combination of a thermal barrier structure and a terminal clip of the retention system.

  • Publication number: 20240113363
Abstract: Traction battery pack designs are disclosed for use in electrified vehicles. Exemplary traction battery packs may include an outer enclosure assembly establishing an interior, and a battery array housed within the interior. A peripheral component assembly may be secured within a wall of the outer enclosure assembly. The wall may be part of a tray or a cover of the outer enclosure assembly. The peripheral component assembly may include twist lock features for rotatably securing the peripheral component assembly in place within a mounting opening of the wall. Using the twist lock features, the peripheral component assembly may be installed from inside the outer enclosure assembly.
