  • Publication number: 20240092672
Abstract: A method of making a glass product includes: melting a batch of raw materials to form a glass melt in a melting tank; heating the batch and/or the glass melt using two or more electrodes, the electrodes including an electrode material and heating the batch and/or the glass melt includes operating the electrodes at a current frequency of at least 1,000 Hz and at most 5,000 Hz; withdrawing the glass melt from the melting tank; and forming the glass melt into the glass product.

  • Publication number: 20240097515
Abstract: A rotor segment of a segmented generator, in particular of a permanently excited segmented rotary generator, of a wind turbine, comprises a magnet carrier segment with a rotor circumferential face, in particular a rotor external circumferential face, which in a circumferential direction extends between a first and second separation interface by way of a segment length; the rotor circumferential face having a first separation interface portion having a first length proceeding from the first separation interface in the circumferential direction toward the second separation interface; and a second separation interface portion having a second length proceeding from the second separation interface in the circumferential direction toward the first separation interface; and a connection portion having a third length extending between the first and second separation interface; wherein in each case a reinforcement device for reinforcing the magnet carrier segment is disposed on the rotor circumferential face in the re

  • Patent number: 10575773
Abstract: The present invention is generally directed to apparatuses and methods for evaluating the amount of “play” in a joint. In one embodiment, an apparatus is provided that quantifies the rotation of the tibia in response to a known torque. The apparatus is configured to minimize the influence of other joints on the rotation analysis. Other embodiments provide data related to movement of the tibia in other degrees of freedom.

  • Publication number: 20140358042
Abstract: A method and apparatus for reliably positioning a 3-segment limb, such as a leg or arm for imaging and medical analysis, which can accommodate for the patient's “natural alignment”. The apparatus positions the limb in such a way that the position of the proximal segment is controlled while an known external torque is applied at a known rate to the distal segment. The location of each of the limb's three segments is recorded using either external or internal measurement techniques, and the relative motions between the proximal and intermediate segments are used in the orthopedic evaluation of the proximal joint. Furthermore, the relative motions between the intermediate and distal segments are used in the orthopedic evaluation of the distal joint. By applying a known torque at a known rate, clinicians will be provided with valuable information related to joint range of motion, stability, laxity, and compliance.
