  • Patent number: 6374654
Abstract: Locking arrangement having a lock cylinder with an associated key (1), in particular a flat turning key, wherein a core (2) of the lock cylinder has a keyway (3) which is open in the direction of an end side of the cylinder, is provided with profile ribs/grooves and in the center thereof the vertex of a conical opening (4), which opens in the direction of the end side of the cylinder, is located. At an insertion end, the key (1) forms a tip (5) with flanks (6) in the form of arcuate lines. The tip (5) is formed by two arcuate lines (6), of which a point of intersection is located in a broad-side center (7) of the key, and a tangent angle (delta) at the point of intersection (5) is greater than the vertex angle (&mgr;) of the cone opening (4), wherein the arcuate lines (6) have bevels (9), in the direction of the mutually opposite broad sides (8), having a bevel angle (omega) which is smaller than the vertex angle (&mgr;) of the cone opening (4).

  • Patent number: 6145357
Abstract: A flat key for a tumbler-containing locking cylinder of a locking apparatus, with a key grip and, attached thereto, a key shank for locking grooves cut into the shank towards the end surface, the shank having a basic profile exhibiting an essentially T-shaped cross-sectional configuration, of which the T-bar forms a guide bar with guiding surfaces, and of which the T-stem extending in the longitudinal mid-plane provides the end surface and has wide side surfaces for the provision of profile ribs that have curvilinear cross-sectional contours.

  • Patent number: 5964112
Abstract: A locking cylinder (1) with a cylindrical housing (2) of which the core bore (7) receives a cylindrical core (8) having a key channel (9) with core pins provided in the cylindrical core and housing pins displaceably guided in housing pin bores, the housing pins being resiliently biased by springs in the direction of the core pins, and with at least one additional, core-adjacent tumbler element (15) adjacent the wide-side profile of the key, the element (15) being displaceable in a cavity (H) crossing the rotational interface of the cylindrical core, the tumbler element being spring biased in the outward direction of the core and having a control projection (22, 51) projecting sidewards into the key channel (9, 43).

  • Patent number: 4964288
Abstract: A locking device comprises a lock cylinder and a reversible flat key having indentations located on opposite broad faces of the key for the arrangement of tumbler pins, and having a rib associated with each row of indentations, into the sectional area of which at least one of the pins extends and the crest of which rib projects beyond the broad face of the key. The deepest reached indentation lies nearest to the crest of the rib and several indentations of a row of indentations are integrated into a through groove of variable depth levels.

  • Patent number: 4787225
Abstract: For increased security the key (2; 40; 44) has one or more blade portions (43; 45; 46; 5, 6). The longitudinal central plane (A, B) of the or each blade portion is offset from the guide region (42; 7) running along the back edge of the key shaft (3). Furthermore, the or each blade portion is connected to the guide region by means of a bridging portion (14, 14') which forms an obtuse angle (alpha) with the guide region, as well as forming an obtuse angle with the blade portion. In one preferred embodiment two blade portions (45, 46; 5, 6) are provided; they may be of the same cross-sectional shape (FIG. 2) or symmetrical (FIG. 11). The blade portions and guide region may be divided into two portions to provide partner keys (FIG. 12).
