  • Publication number: 20090022282
Abstract: Disclosed is a communication system (1) for advantageous use in a global emergency call/warning system, comprising at least one communication device (20, 21, 22) and a central device (10) that is connected to said communication device (20, 21, 22) in order to exchange text data. The connection between the communication device (20, 21, 22) and the central device (10) is established via at least one satellite (30). Data transmitted by the communication device (20, 21, 22) contains additional information about the current position of the communication device (20, 21, 22), or data transmitted by the central device (10) contains additional information about the local relevance of the text data.

  • Patent number: 7432856
Abstract: A signal simulation device for testing and developing radio receivers adapted to orientate antenna beams to different radio transmitters and to simultaneously suppress interference signals, comprises an antenna array, a signal generator generating reproducible digital signals in the complex baseband, and a digital matrix processor combined and synchronized with the signal generator. The processor has input signals generated by the signal generator and has output signals that form received signals of the antenna array. The input signals of the matrix processor are phase shifted according to a direction of incidence and to relative positions of the elements within the antenna array of the radio receiver, and are combined and supplied to outputs of the matrix processor. Amplitude and phase shift are simulated by weighting of the input signals from the signal generator, the weighting coefficients being calculated on a control computer and input into the matrix processor via an interface.

  • Patent number: 6957043
Abstract: A data communications system including a local beacon (10; 9, 9?), on the one side ,being programmable and/or communicating with controlling and/or information communicating infrastructure means (16), for example a central service provider or the Internet and/or with one or more further local beacons and which, on the other side, contains for wireless communication with one or more end devices (17) located in its vicinity a transceiver combination or in special cases a transmitter only and which is located in or in place of a electric lighting equipment (1) is characterized in accordance with the invention in that the local beacon is provided with a smart cache and/or processing functionality for the data to be communicated wireless. The data communications system in accordance with the invention can be put to use for both communication and navigation by end device users.

  • Publication number: 20050225474
Abstract: To prevent multipath reception when receiving signals, particularly satellite navigation signals, such as e.g. GPS signals, an aircraft antenna assembly including a microwave antenna (2) mounted on the skin of an aircraft fuselage (1) is covered in the surroundings of the microwave antenna with a correspondingly microwave absorbent material (3) or, as an alternative, comprises such a surface structure that the microwaves incident there are not reflected towards said microwave antenna but away therefrom. For application on aircraft antennas for satellite navigation signals, e.g. for GPS or Galileo.
