  • Patent number: 4596200
Abstract: A row crop planter unit (12) has seed trench forming dixc openers (31, 32) followed by a pair of equalizer mounted planter unit support and gauge wheels (50, 64) having slicing discs (61, 66) secured to the laterally inner sides serving to cut the banks of the seed trench (39) and cover the seed (102) deposited in the trench. A press wheel (101) is provided to insure closing of the trench (39) over the seed.

  • Patent number: 4485939
Abstract: An agricultural planter (12) is provided with a hopper (37 or 137) which is adapted to receive a transverse partition wall (71 or 171) for dividing seed and chemical compartments (72, 73 or 205, 207). The chemical compartment (73 or 207) can be further divided into cells (74, 76 or 174', 176') by a longitudinal partition wall (77 or 177) whereby seed and two chemicals, such as a herbicide and an insecticide, can be dispensed from a single hopper (37 or 137) during a planting operation.

  • Patent number: 4427207
Abstract: An implement frame (12) is supported by two pairs of laterally spaced wheels (36, 37 and 38, 39) whose vertical position relative to the frame is controlled by a pair of parallel master cylinders (61, 62) connected to one pair of wheels (36, 37) and a pair of parallel connected slave cylinders (63, 64) connected to the second pair of wheels (38, 39). The master and slave cylinders are series connected to provide even raising and lowering of the implement frame. The parallel connections between corresponding ends of the master and slave cylinders (61, 62, 63, 64) provide a walking beam effect with resulting equal loading on the wheels (36, 37, 38, 39).

  • Patent number: 4382528
Abstract: An agricultural planter having a seed singulating plate (28) rotatable about a vertical axis (30) to disperse seeds stored in a gravity flow hopper (12). A replaceable wear ring (38) of wear resistant material increases the useful life of the hopper and permits the renewal of a high wear surface without replacement of the hopper lower portion (14).
