  • Patent number: 11805997
Abstract: Devices and methods for performing a skin biopsy are discussed herein. The skin biopsy device provides for consistent depth and shape, such as by reducing or eliminating operator error or inter-operator variability by generating the same forces across multiple uses. The skin biopsy device can also eliminate puckering of wound closures by incorporating a fusiform blade (e.g., elliptical blade or a diamond-shaped blade). The skin biopsy device includes a casing, a firing pin, a retaining rod, and a blade. The retaining rod holds the blade or can attach to a punch biopsy. The firing pin generates and impacts the retaining rod with a force necessary to drive the blade a given depth into a target tissue to obtain a biological sample.

  • Publication number: 20230343939
Abstract: Battery electrode compositions are provided comprising core-shell composites. Each of the composites may comprise, for example, an active material, a collapsible core, and a shell. The active material may be provided to store and release metal ions during battery operation, whereby the storing and releasing of the metal ions causes a substantial change in volume of the active material. The collapsible core may be disposed in combination with the active material to accommodate the changes in volume. The shell may at least partially encase the active material and the core, the shell being formed from a material that is substantially permeable to the metal ions stored and released by the active material.

  • Patent number: 11752895
Abstract: A system receives historical vehicle battery data from a gateway device connected to a vehicle. Some vehicles with plug-in rechargeable batteries recommend/require that the vehicle computer be turned off when recharging. Thus, obtaining a current state of charge while a vehicle is charging can be difficult because the vehicle computer can be off. While the vehicle/gateway device is unable to transmit current battery data, the systems estimate a battery charge from the historical data.

  • Publication number: 20230245510
Abstract: In particular embodiments, a computing system may determine a predicted amount of ride requests for a plurality of collectively-managed vehicles and determine an availability of the collectively-managed vehicles to satisfy the predicted amount of ride requests. Subsequent to determining that the availability fails to satisfy one or more predetermined criteria for servicing the predicted amount of ride requests, the system may determine status information associated with the collectively-managed vehicles and determine, based on at least the status information, one or more minimum services for servicing one or more vehicles among the plurality of collectively-managed vehicles at one or more service centers such that the availability satisfies the one or more predetermined criteria. The system may instruct the one or more vehicles that are to receive the one or more minimum services to travel to the one or more service centers to be serviced.

  • Patent number: 11659818
Abstract: Techniques for monitoring the individual feed and water intake and pharmaceutical use and unmetabolized residual alerting in the livestock industry. Livestock have sensors installed on or in their bodies to detect consumption of feed and water for each animal in an environment where multiple animals are present. Sensors communicate data regarding the duration and timing of individual animals feeding habits. Health and efficiency status data is recorded per animal and analyzed to determine whether to issue an alert indicating problems with individual animals. The system tracks the health and efficiency data for each animal, pen or farm and generates statistical information regarding the sensor data. The system communicates with user interface to display notifications and statistical data. In addition, the pharmaceutical monitoring system alerts when any unmetabolized residual pharmaceuticals are still in the animals when the animal is being readied for shipping to a packing plant.
