  • Patent number: 8762400
Abstract: Data storage method for storing a subblock of a block of data. The block of data is distributed, in a number of subblocks of data, over a set of devices. The set of devices comprises at least two devices, and the method comprises the steps of: collecting a subblock of data using the device, storing the subblock of data on the device; and storing metadata identifying the data comprised in the subblock of data.
    Type: Grant

  • Publication number: 20090282079
Abstract: In a telemonitoring system, a number of telemonitoring devices collect patient data. If an abnormality occurs, a monitoring center is sent a signal. Depending on the abnormality, the monitoring center may request more patient data in order to analyze and evaluate the occurred abnormality. To this end, the patient may be requested to send the telemonitoring devices to the monitoring center. In order to minimize overhead costs and increase efficiency, the present invention provides a method and system for transferring the requested data to a minimum number of selected devices, preferably one selected device, so that a minimum number of selected devices needs to be sent to the monitoring center.

  • Publication number: 20080126492
Abstract: A system that comprises a dynamically changing set of client and server devices (10). Client devices send detection messages (64a, 66a, 68a) to a server device (10), for detecting active presence of the server device (10) in the system. The server device (10) selects assigned time points for transmission of subsequent detection messages from respective ones of the client devices (10). The server device sends timing information that represents the selected time points (10) to the client devices (10) in response to the detection messages (64a, 66a, 68a).The client devices send renewed detection messages (646,c, 66b, 68b), using the timing information to time sending of the renewed detection messages (646,c, 66b, 68b) substantially at the assigned time points.
