  • Patent number: 9181872
Abstract: A power plant includes a first gas turbine engine, a second gas turbine engine, a flue gas duct, a CO2 capture system for treating flue gases from the second gas turbine engine and an exhaust system. It additionally includes at least one among a direct connection between the first gas turbine engine and the exhaust system, and a damper for on-line regulating the flue gases flow through it, a direct connection between the first gas turbine engine and the CO2 capture system, and a damper for regulating the flue gases flow through it, a supply of fresh oxygen containing fluid for the second gas turbine engine.

  • Publication number: 20140250900
Abstract: The invention relates to a gas turbine power plant, having a gas turbine, a waste heat steam generator following the gas turbine, an exhaust gas recooler, an exhaust gas blower, a carbon dioxide separation plant which separates the carbon dioxide contained in the exhaust gases from these and discharges it to a carbon dioxide outlet. A bypass chimney is arranged in the gas turbine power plant between the outlet of the waste heat steam generator and the exhaust gas blower and is connected to a fail-safe open connection both in the throughflow direction from the exhaust gas line to the bypass chimney and in the throughflow direction from the bypass chimney to the exhaust gas line. The invention relates, further, to a method for operating a gas turbine power plant of this type, in which the exhaust gas blower is regulated.

  • Publication number: 20130312386
Abstract: A combined cycle power plant includes a CO2 capture system operatively integrated with a liquefied natural gas LNG regasification system, where cold energy from the regasification process is used for cooling processes within the CO2 capture system or processes associated with it. These cooling systems include systems for cooling lean or rich absorption solutions for the CO2 capture or the cooling of flue gas. The LNG regasification system is arranged in one or more heat exchange stages having and one or more cold storage units. The power plant with CO2 capture can be operated at improved overall efficiencies.

  • Patent number: 8052155
Abstract: A seal (1) includes a first component (7) and second component (9), the first component including a first material having a high thermal and oxidation and wear resistance, and the second component (9) including a second material that is different from the first material and has a high spring load maintenance. The seal (1) is applied to a combustion chamber for a gas turbine, where the first component (7) extends between the casing wall of the combustion chamber and adjacent liner segments (4). The spring load of the second component (9) provides a seal also in the case of vibrations in a combustion chamber. The lifetime of the seal (1) is increased due to the individual materials, which are optimally chosen for the functions of high thermal and wear resistance and spring load maintenance respectively. The seal is further applied to the sealing between adjacent stationary blade platforms in gas turbines.

  • Patent number: 7857579
Abstract: A sealing element for sealing a component gap with respect to a flow, in particular for use in a fluid-flow machine, specifically in a turbomachine is provided. In addition a fluid-flow machine is provided including such a sealing element for sealing a component gap. The sealing element includes a hollow profile enclosing a cavity. Arranged in the hollow profile are a first opening and a second opening, which are spaced apart from each other in the longitudinal direction of the hollow profile. The first opening is formed as an inlet opening for a cooling fluid into the cavity of the hollow profile, the second opening is formed as an outlet opening for the cooling fluid from the cavity of the hollow profile. With the sealing element arranged in a fluid-flow machine, the sealing element can consequently be internally cooled by means of the cooling fluid. Furthermore, the sealing element uses the pressure gradient occurring in the flow in the direction of flow to form a stable cooling fluid flow.
