  • Publication number: 20220380439
Abstract: Efficient methods for capture and removal of fibrinogen from blood plasma fractions, especially cryoprecipitate, and Fraction II+III providing high yields of blood coagulation Factor VIII are disclosed. According to this disclosure, there is provided a method of separating plasma cryoprecipitate or Fraction II+III comprising a blood coagulation factor and fibrinogen into a first fraction comprising the blood coagulation factor and a second fraction containing the fibrinogen, the method comprising: (a) contacting he plasma cryoprecipitate with solid SiO2 or Al(OH)3, thereby adsorbing the fibrinogen onto the solid SiO2 or Al(OH)3; and (b) separating the fibrinogen adsorbed onto the solid SiO2 or Al(OH)3 from the blood factor, thereby forming the first fraction and the second fraction.

  • Publication number: 20220106357
Abstract: The present invention provides a method of fractionating human plasma, in some embodiments, using the Cohn fractionation procedure. The improvement comprises the use of physiologically active reconstituted spray dried human plasma as the starting material for the fractionation procedure.

  • Patent number: 9643998
Abstract: Methods and systems for monitoring and/or controlling protein separation, purification, extraction, and/or fractionation processes are provided. The impedance of a protein mixture undergoing a protein process is measured and compared to a target reference impedance value or range of reference impedance values. If the measured impedance is not within an acceptable deviation of the target reference impedance value, a parameter of the protein mixture or process is adjusted.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 9, 2011
Date of Patent: May 9, 2017
    Assignees: BAXALTA GMBH, BAXALTA INCORPORATED
