  • Patent number: 4357761
Abstract: Disclosed is apparatus designed primarily for enameling the internal and external surfaces of pipes including a drying chamber constructed as three vertical coaxial tubes, viz. an outer tube, an intermediate tube and a center tube, each having an individual hot air feed. The center and intermediate tubes are provided with holes in the upper part thereof and form an annular working space of the drying chamber. Movably mounted in said working space is a circular support for the pipe under treatment. This support is kinematically connected with a counterweight which is movably mounted inside the center tube and is constructed as an upside down cup with radial channels in the wall thereof.

  • Patent number: 4338879
Abstract: Described is apparatus designed for applying enamel slip simultaneously to the internal and external surfaces of a pipe which includes a housing with a rod mounted centrally therein so that a clearance space is formed therebetween. That clearance space measures somewhat more than the thickness of the wall of the pipe under treatment which is to be moved in the clearance space, which is being filled with enamel slip. The clearance space between the housing and the rod measures at least 1.5 times the thickness of the pipe wall.In one of the embodiments of the invention, the housing and the rod are of cylindrical shape. The housing is provided with an enamel circulation system which includes a pump communicating with the housing and a reservoir via pipelines. The reservoir is filled with enamel slip and is provided with a thermoregulator.

  • Patent number: 4210096
Abstract: The present invention relates to apparatus for the continuous enamelling of tubes. The apparatus disclosed incorporates an upender which is installed with provision for displacement along guides so as to transfer pipes from a horizontal position into a vertical one. These guides are arranged in vertical parallel planes, at least one guide in each plane, and each of the guides consists of several portions: a horizontal portion, an inclined one, and a portion running vertically so as to transfer the tubes to a trolley located on an annular splitable monorail which is made up of immovable sections and movable ones which displace in the vertical plane integrally with the tube during the process of enamelling. The apparatus also incorporates a means of applying enamelling slip and a means of heating designed to dry and fuse the slip. The apparatus disclosed displays a high capacity and allows to apply the slip to tubes of various lengths and diameters.
