  • Patent number: 7096964
Abstract: The sprinkler includes the following structural members: a body (1) with a channel for liquid supply, a thermally responsive unit with a valve (4) closing the sprinkler outlet, and a thermally responsive unit attachment. In the first alternative embodiment a sprinkler channel is formed by a segment (10) of a cylindrical configuration connected with a segment (11) made as a conical diffuser. To generate a fine uniform gas-and-drop stream of a high kinetic energy and space-uniform distribution the cylindrical segment (10) length exceeds the channel diameter at this segment. The segment (11) length in the form of conical diffuser exceeds the channel diameter at the cylindrical segment (10). In the second alternative embodiment the sprinkler has two coaxial liquid supply channels. The length of the axial cylindrical channel exceeds its diameter. The second annular channel is coaxial to the first channel and fitted with helical guide components.

  • Patent number: 6886640
Abstract: The invention is aimed at generating a finely dispersed gas-and-drop flow with its cross-section in the shape of an ellipse and uniform intensity distribution. A fluid spray nozzle is built in the form of a body (1) with two coaxial channels (2) of the same cross-section designed for head liquid supply and a nozzle having a shape of a conical diffuser (3). The diffuser (3) is oriented transverse to the channels, the area of its inlet orifice not exceeding the total cross-section area of the channels. The fire extinguisher fitted with a fluid spray nozzle comprises a liquid vessel (4) for fire extinguishing, a liquid expulsion system, a pipeline (11), connecting a liquid cavity (5) of the vessel (4) to a spray nozzle and at least one valve or a regulator (8) to control the liquid supply to the spray nozzle.

  • Patent number: 6478240
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device for generating a gas-droplet stream, wherein the said device includes a gas-dynamic nozzle (1), which is connected to a chamber (2) for mixing gas and liquid and containing a liquid flow dispersion system (3). The chamber (2) is connected to a liquid and gas supply system through a controlled valve, wherein the said valve ensures an early inlet of a gas flow prior to that of the liquid when the device is turned on, and cuts off the liquid supply when the said device is turned off. The valve comprises two closure members (5,6) which interact with the seats provided on the walls of sealed chambers (8,9) and which communicate respectively with liquid and gas supply ducts (10,11). The member (5) is rigidly connected to a rod (7) so as to be brought in contact with the seat in the gas supply chamber (8), while the member (6) is coaxially mounted on the said rod (7) so as to be capable of displacement along the same upon interaction with a stop.

  • Patent number: 6311780
Abstract: The present invention comprises supplying a liquid onto the source of a fire from an aircraft (7), wherein said liquid is supplied in the form of gas-droplet stream (8) obtained by dispersion in a gas flow and by acceleration of the dual-phase flow in a gas-dynamics nozzle (4). The pressure at the inlet of the nozzle (4) as well as the relative concentration of liquid in the dual-phase flow are selected according to conditions enabling the formation of a dual-phase low-dispersion and high-speed flow which has a high extinguishing-substance concentration and remains stable when submitted to interference. The fire-extinguishing device of the present invention comprises a liquid supply system (1), a gas supply system (2), a mixing chamber (3) for the gas and the liquid as well as a gas-dynamics nozzle (4), wherein all these members are is arranged onboard on aircraft (7). The gas-dynamics nozzle supplies the liquid towards the area of the fire source and is connected to a vessel through a duct.

  • Patent number: 6223827
Abstract: A fire-extinguishing device includes a vessel containing a fire-extinguishing substance, a tank of pressurized gas, flexible pipe for connecting the vessel and the tank to each other as well as to a device that generates a directed flow of the fire-extinguishing substance mixed with the working gas, and a pressure regulator for the working gas. The device has a mixing chamber for the fire-extinguishing substance and the gas, with the chamber having a gas-dynamic nozzle mounted at its outlet. A profiled channel in the nozzle has a length equal to at least twice the diameter of the nozzle channel at its smallest section. The vessel and the tank may be fitted in a backpack. The nozzle may be made in the shape of ring and fitted with an annular channel for feeding additional working gas before a minimal section of its own channel. The central body of the annular nozzle may be made in the shape of a cone with its tip directed toward the nozzle inlet.
