Abstract: An article analysis and exchange system may be configured to accept an article, such as jewelry or other articles having valuable materials, and analyze the composition of the article via one or more elemental analysis technologies. The system may also be configured to verify the identity of the user. Based on the outcome of the elemental analysis, the system may then check the value of the detected material(s), weigh the article, and offer an amount of money to the user based on the composition of the article and the material(s) therein. If the offer is accepted, funds may be physically dispensed to the user and/or electronically transferred to an account designated by the user.
