  • Patent number: 11778623
Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive an indication of a plurality of selectable physical resource block (PRB) bundle sizes. The UE may receive downlink control information (DCI) that does not include a PRB bundling size indicator that indicates a PRB bundle size to be selected from the plurality of selectable PRB bundle sizes. The UE may select a PRB bundle size, from the plurality of selectable PRB bundle sizes, despite the DCI not including the PRB bundling size indicator. Numerous other aspects are provided.

  • Patent number: 11159972
Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for handling of radio frequency (RF) front-end group delays for round trip time (RTT) estimation. In an aspect, a network entity determines a network total group delay (GD) and a user equipment (UE) determines a UE total GD. The network entity transmits one or more RTT measurement (RTTM) signals to the UE. Each RTTM signal includes a RTTM waveform. The UE determines one or more one or more RTT response (RTTR) payloads for one or more RTTR signals. Each RTTR signal also includes a RTTR waveform. The UE transmits the RTTR signal(s) to the network entity. For each RTTR signal, a transmission time of the RTTR waveform and/or the RTTR payload is/are determined based on the UE total GD. The network entity determines a RTT between the UE and the network entity based on the RTTM signal(s), the RTTR signal(s), and the network total GD.

  • Patent number: 11129028
Abstract: Improved methods, systems, devices, or apparatus that support prioritization for potential shared data transmissions are described. In some cases, a receiving device may identify transmission parameters for shared transmissions including a scheduled shared transmission and determine resources for a potential shared transmission. The receiving device may monitor for the shared transmission(s) based on priority rules for a shared transmission and the potential shared transmission. For instance, the receiving device may be configured to receive only one of the scheduled or potential shared transmission. In some cases, the transmitting device may consider the priority rules and determine whether to transmit or drop one or more shared transmissions.

  • Patent number: 11101950
Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to communication systems, and more particularly, to techniques for time domain bundling of demodulation reference signals (DMRSs) in slot aggregation. An exemplary method generally includes detecting one or more conditions in at least one of a plurality of aggregated slots that indicate the at least one of the aggregated slots is not configured as a downlink-only slot, wherein each slot comprises a plurality of symbols, in response to the detection, determining whether to bundle demodulation reference signals (DMRSs) received across one or more of the aggregated slots, and performing channel estimation based on the determination.

  • Patent number: 11044581
Abstract: The disclosed methods and apparatuses for round trip time (RTT) based positioning include generating or receiving a measurement report. The measurement report includes, for at least one transmission-reception point (TRP), a user equipment (UE) time difference and an offset of the at least one TRP. The UE time difference is a difference of a UE transmission time of an uplink reference signals (UL RS) to the at least one TRP and an earliest reception time representing a time of arrival (TOA) at the UE of an earliest path of a downlink reference signal (DL RS) from the at least one transmission-reception point (TRP). The offset is a difference of a stronger reception time representing a TOA at the UE of a stronger path of the DL RS from the at least one TRP and the earliest reception time.

  • Patent number: 11038643
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A wireless device, such as a user equipment and/or a base station, may determine that an active transmit beam has changed from a first transmit beam to a second transmit beam, the second transmit beam being different from the first transmit beam. The wireless device may identify a reference signal identifier that is associated with the second transmit beam. The wireless device may update, based at least in part on the identifying, a channel state information (CSI) resource setting to include the reference signal identifier, wherein the CSI resource setting is associated with the active transmit beam.

  • Publication number: 20210083735
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure disclose various methods for grouping network resources into precoder resource groups (PRGs) for precoding in MIMO communication. A user equipment (UE) may select a common precoder that may not be restricted to a codebook for precoding the resources in the same PRG. These resource grouping methods provide the UE with the flexibility to select a precoder that is well suited to the channel or bandwidth. Moreover, the base station may reduce downlink signaling because it does not need to signal the precoder choice to the UE. In some examples, the base station may receive PRG based channel state information feedback that facilitates DL precoding. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.

  • Publication number: 20210050938
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for a base station transmitting a modulation and coding scheme index corresponding to a modulation and coding scheme table to a user equipment (UE). The modulation and coding scheme index may be applied to encoding or decoding a transport block. The modulation and coding scheme may be associated with at least two modulation orders or a differential indication according to a modulation and coding scheme table. To determine which of the modulation orders for processing the transport block, the UE and the base station may use a prior modulation order associated with a prior transmission of the transport block. The UE may process the transport block by encoding or decoding the transport block based at least in part on the determined modulation order.

  • Patent number: 10873416
Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station (BS), a transmission of a channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS), wherein the transmission of the CSI-RS is received at least a quantity of symbols prior to a symbol of a scheduled uplink transmission from the UE. The UE may determine an uplink transmit beam for the scheduled uplink transmission based at least in part on receiving the transmission of the CSI-RS. Numerous other aspects are provided.
