  • Publication number: 20240087763
Abstract: A maintenance method is applied to a nuclear reactor having at least one control assembly for controlling a rod cluster assembly including a casing for receiving a lifting mechanism and a sheath for receiving the control rod, a first lip at an upper casing end and a second lip at a sheath lower end forming an omega seal. The maintenance method includes removing the first and second lips; carrying out at least one maintenance operation on the control assembly; creating a welding surface by machining said upper casing end; creating a leak-tight welded connection by welding the welding surface and a complementary welding surface provided at the lower end of the sheath or of a replacement sheath.

  • Patent number: 9341799
Abstract: The fiber optic assembly can include two fiber optic breadboards hinged to one another along a coinciding hinge axis. Each one of the fiber optic breadboards can have a flat body having two faces and lateral edges, one of which running alongside the hinge axis, and can have a tessellation of tray locations each having a tray attachment. The fiber optic assembly can also include a plurality of fiber optic trays each having a body having a base attachable to at least one of said tray attachments, the body having a size and shape associated to one of a single one of said tray locations and a plurality of adjacent ones of said tray locations on one of said at least one fiber optic breadboards, and having a structure by which an optical fiber having a critical radius of curvature can be confined within at least one optical fiber path.

  • Publication number: 20090097809
Abstract: A method for fabricating a terahertz waveguide comprises forming a multilayer reflector formed of alternating layers of first and second polymer materials with distinct refractive indices, and defining with the multilayer reflector a hollow core through which terahertz radiation propagates. The corresponding terahertz waveguide comprises the multilayer reflector formed of the alternating layers of the first and second polymer materials with distinct refractive indices, and a hollow core defined by the multilayer reflector and through which terahertz radiation propagates.
