  • Publication number: 20160256980
Abstract: A honing machine for bearing rings includes a frame, a honing tool, a honing station for holding a bearing ring in position respective to the honing tool and a transfer mechanism for sequentially feeding bearing rings to the honing station. The transfer mechanism includes a first transfer box, adapted to transfer a bearing ring in a to-and-fro movement with respect to the frame, along a first axis, and a second transfer box, adapted to transfer a bearing ring in a to-and-fro movement with respect to the frame, along a second axis parallel to the first axis. The transfer mechanism includes first and second driving mechanisms for driving the first and second transfer boxes in translation along the first and second axes. A top inlet opening of the second transfer box is in vertical alignment with a bottom outlet opening of the first transfer box.

  • Publication number: 20160256974
Abstract: A honing machine for bearing rings includes a frame, a honing tool, a honing station for holding a bearing ring in position with respect to the honing tool, the honing station includes a work piece holder with a concave surface equipped with at least one pad for supporting a bearing ring. The work piece holder is equipped with a damper movable between a first active configuration and a second passive configuration. In the first active configuration, the damper protrudes on a path of a bearing ring moving towards the work piece holder in the honing station. In the second passive configuration, the damper is out of reach of a bearing ring in the honing station.

  • Publication number: 20150306723
Abstract: A grinding machine for bearing rings, the machine includes a frame, a rotating grinding wheel movable in rotation around a first rotation axis, and a working station where a bearing ring stands during a grinding operation of one of its surfaces. The grinding machine also includes a holding subsystem for holding a bearing ring in the working station and transfer subsystem for transferring bearing rings to and from the working station. The transfer subsystem includes at least a multi-axis robot and a ring moving arm provided with a gripping subsystem for temporarily gripping a bearing ring, the ring moving arm being rotatable around a second rotation axis, parallel to the first rotation axis, and movable in translation along the second rotation axis.

  • Publication number: 20150306725
Abstract: A grinding machine for bearing rings includes a frame, a rotating grinding wheel rotationally movable around a first rotation axis, a working station where a bearing ring stands during a surface grinding operation, a chuck for holding a bearing ring, the chuck being rotationally movable around a second rotation axis. The machine includes a first automatic mechanism to set the position of a shaping tool with respect to an outer peripheral edge of the grinding wheel, these first automatic mechanism includes an electric motor, an encoder coupled to the electric motor to detect a rotation of an output shaft of the motor, a sensor of the position of the shaping tool along a translation axis and a comparator to compare output signals from each of the encoder and the sensor. The machine also includes second automatic mechanism to set the axial position of the chuck along the second rotation axis.

  • Publication number: 20150306735
Abstract: A grinding machine for bearing rings, the machine includes a frame, a rotating grinding wheel movable in rotation around a first rotation axis and a nozzle adapted to inject a liquid coolant on a peripheral portion of the grinding wheel. The nozzle is mounted on a first slide movable in translation along a second axis perpendicular to the first rotation axis and the position of the slide along the second axis is controlled by a mechanical linkage connected to a movable part of the machine whose position depends on the outer diameter of the grinding wheel.

  • Publication number: 20150306732
Abstract: A workpiece processing machine comprising a handler for loading a working station of the machine with workpieces for processing. The machine includes a laser detection cell and a computation apparatus configured to compute a first dimension of the workpiece based upon a position of the handler when the workpiece crosses a laser beam of the laser detection cell while being moved by the handler in a first direction. The method automatically controls dimensions of workpieces processed in a working station thereof. The method includes steps of: a) picking a workpiece in an inlet station, b) moving the workpiece using a handler in a direction towards a laser beam of the laser detection cell, c) detecting the position of the handler when the workpiece crosses the laser beam along the direction and d) computing a dimension of the workpiece on the basis of the position of the handler (in step c).
