  • Publication number: 20240070464
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for combining a simulator and neural network for predictions, such as predictions of Harmful Algal Bloom (HAB). One of the methods includes obtaining an estimate of a first number of marine-life cells representative of growth of the marine-life within a first region; providing the estimate to a prediction system that comprises (i) an ocean simulator and (ii) a trained network model, wherein the trained network model is trained to provide an indication of marine-life change using output from the ocean simulator; obtaining output from the prediction system, wherein the output indicates a second number of cells representative of growth of the marine-life within a second region; comparing the output to an output threshold; and in response to the output satisfying the output threshold, performing an action.

  • Publication number: 20100198105
Abstract: The invention relates to a non-invasive method for detecting an electric parameter depending on the intralabyrinth pressure in a subject submitted to a repetitive sound stimulation having a predetermined time origin and frequency, by collecting outside the skull of the subject the electric signals emitted by the cochlea in response to said stimulation, wherein said method comprises the following steps: a) sending to the cochlea sound stimulations of the tone burst type with alternating phases; b) collecting the electric responses of the cochlea and the auditive nerve to said stimulations; c) isolating the component of a response corresponding to the average of the electric responses to a positive phase stimulation minus the average of the responses to a negative phase stimulation; d) removing from said isolated response the signals having a time origin identical to the time origin of the stimulation; and e) thus obtaining a cochlea microphonic potential (PMC) of the type representing the intralabyrinth pressu

  • Patent number: 4646597
Abstract: In order to permit the use of bars of material to be machined without a piminary preparation of the rearward end of the bar being necessary, the pusher head presents ribs extending inwardly, and the surfaces of which directed toward the axis form cone portions. Between these ribs are free spaces where possible burrs may lodge. The ribs include shearing edges for eliminating the burrs if the burr is located on a rib, rather than in the free space. Furthermore, the angle of conicity is small. Thus, a rear bar face in rough state, not having been prepared by straightening or taper turning, does not express itself by any appreciable decentering.

  • Patent number: 4577536
Abstract: Feed apparatus for automatic lathes comprises a central section bar surrounded by one or more peripheral section bars, longitudinal grooves of arcuate cross-section in all the section bars matching and cooperating with each other to form longitudinal passages for guiding bar stock when the section bars are assembled. Linings may be placed in these passages to form tubes for guiding the bar stock, these tubes being very accurately positioned relative to the outer surface of the apparatus, which may be an outer tube into which the assembly of section bars is inserted. Hence the stock-guiding tubes can be more precisely positioned, and the apparatus can be produced at low cost because the section bars are inexpensive and assembly is simple. The apparatus is particularly suitable for feeding lathes on which objects made from bar stock of very different diameters has to be machined.
