  • Publication number: 20240401939
Abstract: The invention relates to an instrument for measuring the curvature of a surface of a sample (8), comprising a light source (1) and a mask (2), le light source (1) illuminating the mask (2) so as to generate a light beam (10) incident on the surface of the sample and to form a light beam (20) reflected by the sample. According to the invention, the mask (2) comprises a transparent background and opaque patterns (14) arranged at predetermined positions, the opaque patterns (14) of the mask having a total surface area smaller than the surface area of the transparent background, the instrument comprises an imaging system (5) and a camera (6) suitable for forming an image (32) of the mask by reflection on the sample (8), an image processing system being suitable for processing the image (32) of the mask by reflection on the surface of the sample, so as to deduce therefrom the radius of the curvature of the sample (8).

  • Publication number: 20240354666
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for determining elements of a shipping network. One of the methods includes obtaining environmental input data, wherein the environmental input data includes weather forecast data; providing the environmental input data to a circulation model; and providing output environmental condition from the circulation model to a machine learning model trained to generate a route for a ship.

  • Publication number: 20240310560
Abstract: A screen protector is described herein that is configured to be releasably attached to an optical coating on a glass-containing display of an electronic device. The protector comprises: a glass-containing substrate comprising an outer and inner primary surface; an antireflective (AR) coating on the outer primary surface; and an interlayer on the inner primary surface for releasable attachment to the optical coating on the display. The interlayer comprises an adhesive, a physical thickness from about 10 ?m to 500 ?m, and one or more refractive indices from ˜1.2 to 1.6. Further, an average photopic reflectance of the screen protector can be less than 2% for all incident angles from 0° to 30°. The interlayer can comprise optically clear adhesive (OCA), polymer-containing layer, and releasable adhesive layers. An anti-splinter (AS) film can be between the interlayer and the substrate. The interlayer and/or AS film may be a cyclo olefin, cellulose triacetate or polyurethane.

  • Publication number: 20100198105
Abstract: The invention relates to a non-invasive method for detecting an electric parameter depending on the intralabyrinth pressure in a subject submitted to a repetitive sound stimulation having a predetermined time origin and frequency, by collecting outside the skull of the subject the electric signals emitted by the cochlea in response to said stimulation, wherein said method comprises the following steps: a) sending to the cochlea sound stimulations of the tone burst type with alternating phases; b) collecting the electric responses of the cochlea and the auditive nerve to said stimulations; c) isolating the component of a response corresponding to the average of the electric responses to a positive phase stimulation minus the average of the responses to a negative phase stimulation; d) removing from said isolated response the signals having a time origin identical to the time origin of the stimulation; and e) thus obtaining a cochlea microphonic potential (PMC) of the type representing the intralabyrinth pressu

  • Patent number: 4646597
Abstract: In order to permit the use of bars of material to be machined without a piminary preparation of the rearward end of the bar being necessary, the pusher head presents ribs extending inwardly, and the surfaces of which directed toward the axis form cone portions. Between these ribs are free spaces where possible burrs may lodge. The ribs include shearing edges for eliminating the burrs if the burr is located on a rib, rather than in the free space. Furthermore, the angle of conicity is small. Thus, a rear bar face in rough state, not having been prepared by straightening or taper turning, does not express itself by any appreciable decentering.

  • Patent number: 4577536
Abstract: Feed apparatus for automatic lathes comprises a central section bar surrounded by one or more peripheral section bars, longitudinal grooves of arcuate cross-section in all the section bars matching and cooperating with each other to form longitudinal passages for guiding bar stock when the section bars are assembled. Linings may be placed in these passages to form tubes for guiding the bar stock, these tubes being very accurately positioned relative to the outer surface of the apparatus, which may be an outer tube into which the assembly of section bars is inserted. Hence the stock-guiding tubes can be more precisely positioned, and the apparatus can be produced at low cost because the section bars are inexpensive and assembly is simple. The apparatus is particularly suitable for feeding lathes on which objects made from bar stock of very different diameters has to be machined.
