  • Publication number: 20240357346
Abstract: Unmanaged Ethernet switches are commonly used in the field for industrial communications and process automation but are at risk for security breaches. A secure unmanaged Ethernet switch (SUS) is herein provided for locking unused data ports and for locking media access control (MAC) addresses to specific data ports. A field technician uses a mobile device to communicate with the SUS over Near Field Communication (NFC) to establish a secure session between the SUS and the mobile device. During the secure session, the mobile device determines which data ports of the SUS are unlocked or are locked. During the secure session, the mobile device can provide permission to the SUS to receive firmware upgrades via a USB port or directly from the mobile device via NFC. Outside the secure session, a technician or adversary cannot lock or unlock data ports, nor upgrade the firmware of the SUS.

  • Publication number: 20230176038
Abstract: The present invention relates to a screening method for determining whether or not a candidate compound is a modulator of a complex consisting of the insect transient receptor potential channel Nanchung protein and the insect transient receptor potential channel Water witch protein. The present invention further relates to a screening method for determining whether or not a candidate compound directly binds to the complex consisting of the Nanchung protein and Water witch protein. The present invention further relates to a screening method for determining whether or not a candidate compound is a modulator of the insect Water witch protein. The present invention further provides a method of insect control by applying an insect-specific TRP channel modulator determined by the screening method. The present invention further provides a method of classifying an insecticide compound by its mode of action using the binding assay and/or a functional assay.

  • Publication number: 20180220653
Abstract: The present invention relates to a screening method for determining whether or not a candidate compound directly binds to an insect transient receptor potential V (TRPV) channel. The present invention further provides a method of identifying a compound that directly binds to a Nanchung protein, TRP and/or TRPV protein and/or channel using, a binding assay. The present invention further provides a method of classifying an insecticide compound by its mode of action using the binding assay and/or a functional assays.

  • Patent number: 10024845
Abstract: The present invention relates to a screening method for determining whether or not a candidate compound is a modulator of an insect transient receptor potential V (TRPV) channel. The present invention further provides a method of insect control by applying to an insect-specific TRPV channel modulator determined by the screening method. The present invention further relates to an expression vector that includes a nucleic acid molecule coding for an insect TRPV channel. Also, the present invention relates to cell that includes the expression vector encoding a TRPV channel.
