Publication number: 20240208570Abstract: A coupling assembly is coupling a steering mechanism to a steering axle of a vehicle. The coupling assembly comprises subassemblies, one mounted to the chassis and the other to the bogie; and racks extending side by side, that couple the subassemblies. One rack is coupled to steering mechanism and the one subassemblies is coupled to the steering axle. The coupling assembly operates such that when the steering member moves relative to the first subassembly, it exerts the racks to move relative to each other, resulting in the second subassembly steering the steering axle. However, when the bogie moves, the second subassembly moves without the elongated members moving relative to each other.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 4, 2024Publication date: June 27, 2024Inventors: Gérard NOËL, Alexandre NOËL

Patent number: 11945497Abstract: A steering wheel system for a semi-trailer is described. The system uses a retractable encoded system releasably connected to a kingpin, a mechanical steer driving system translating the rotation of the kingpin to a hydraulic system, and a non-circular cogged system driven by the hydraulic system adapted to steer the wheels. A hydraulic generator system powered by the rotation of the wheels is used to decrease the electric energy required by the hydraulic system. Other improvements are also present to increase security, decrease weight and improve time expectancy of the components.Type: GrantFiled: March 10, 2023Date of Patent: April 2, 2024Assignee: GN TECHNOLOGIES Inc.Inventors: Gérard Noël, Alexandre Noël

Publication number: 20230408003Abstract: A metal tubular connecting part includes a total axial length, an inner surface, and an outer surface. The inner and outer surfaces delimit a wall, an outer transition surface, and an inner transition surface. The outer transition surface and the inner transition surface delimit a transition thickness of the wall. A first threaded end is defined by a first outer surface portion extending over a first axial length. A second threaded end is defined by a second inner surface portion extending over a second axial length. The sum of the first axial length and the second axial length is less than or equal to the total axial length of the connecting part.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 24, 2021Publication date: December 21, 2023Applicant: VALLOUREC OIL AND GAS FRANCEInventors: Bertrand MAILLON, Alexandre NOEL, Thierry TAISNE, Umberto CARUSO

Patent number: 10690633Abstract: A module to help in calibration of a device for inspection of metallurgical products including a memory configured to store data in a form of value/angle pairs. Each pair corresponds to an amplitude of response to an ultrasound inspection in a direction of the metallurgical product corresponding to the angle. A calculator is configured to perform a processing function on the stored data. A first set of data involves a polydirectional reflector disposed in the metallurgical product. A second set of data involves a directional reflector disposed in the metallurgical product. The processing function establishes a third set of data by interpolation of pairs of the first set of data and the second set of data. The pairs of the third set correspond to standard amplitudes for ultrasound inspections along at least some of the working directions of the polydirectional reflector.Type: GrantFiled: March 25, 2016Date of Patent: June 23, 2020Assignee: VALLOUREC TUBES FRANCEInventor: Alexandre Noel

Patent number: 10641737Abstract: A device, and corresponding test method, for testing metallurgical products including an ultrasonic sensor including a plurality of elementary transducers which can be operated independently of each other and are distributed in accordance with a two-dimensional pattern is described. A first electronic component is configured to excite each of the elementary transducers in accordance with at least one temporal law corresponding to a burst of ultrasonic waves in a line of sight. A second electronic component is configured to process at least a portion of the signals captured by each of the elementary transducers. Each temporal law is arranged such that the corresponding burst produces a beam of ultrasonic waves which is generally divergent about the line of sight on moving away from the ultrasonic sensor.Type: GrantFiled: December 18, 2013Date of Patent: May 5, 2020Assignee: VALLOUREC TUBES FRANCEInventors: Raphael Michel, Alexandre Noel, Michel Vahe
