  • Patent number: 11945225
Abstract: A method is disclosed. The method comprises receiving a matrix representation of a source image to be printed, the matrix representation defining a colorant value for each of a plurality of print addressable locations, wherein the colorant values are representative of amounts of print colorant to be delivered to the print addressable locations during a printing operation. The method may comprise identifying, by processing circuitry, a region in the matrix representation having a first print addressable location and an adjacent second print addressable location, wherein a difference between colorant values of the first print addressable location and the second print addressable location meets or exceeds a defined colorant value threshold.

  • Publication number: 20240059083
Abstract: In one example, the tension in a print media may be determined in a region between a roller for unwinding the print media and a print zone. In this example, the rotational speed of the roller may be controlled based on the determined tension of the print media.

  • Publication number: 20240028853
Abstract: A print mode determination method is disclosed. The method comprises receiving image data defining parameters of pixels of an image to be printed using a print apparatus; identifying, based on the image data, a first fill area in the image that exceeds a defined threshold area, wherein the first fill area is to be printed in a first color; determining, based on the image data, a first proportion of print agent of each of a plurality of colors to be used to print the first color; and determining, based on the determined first proportions of print agent, a print mode to be used by the print apparatus to print the image. An apparatus and a machine-readable medium are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20230322007
Abstract: A printing system may be provided and the printing system may comprise, in an example, a controller, wherein the controller may cause a printing mechanism to selectively apply pre-treatment fluid and marking fluid on a recorded medium. The printing mechanism may comprise a first printhead to dispense pre-treatment fluid and a second printhead to dispense marking fluid, wherein the first printhead is arranged in line with the second printhead. The controller may cause the printing system to enter a first print mode, wherein in the first print mode, there are a plurality of passes of a printing mechanism where pre-treatment fluid and/or marking fluid is applied to the recorded medium, and wherein a first of the plurality of passes is to be of the pre-treatment fluid from the first printhead without the second printhead dispensing marking fluid.

  • Publication number: 20220143973
Abstract: Example implementations relate to controllers and printers to operate at least one liquid ejection device of a printhead; the liquid ejection device comprising a nozzle and an associated print liquid chamber bearing a transducer to eject print liquid from the nozzle in response to a firing signal; the print chamber being fluidically coupled to a nozzle supply channel; the at least one liquid ejection device comprising a channel coupled to the print liquid chamber and the nozzle supply channel; the channel having a respective actuator to urge print liquid through the print chamber in response to a circulation signal; wherein the controller comprises temperature control circuitry to actuate the respective actuator using a temperature control signal to increase the temperature of print liquid in the print liquid chamber.
