  • Patent number: 10846444
Abstract: A method includes receiving, via a processor, a three-dimensional (3D) computer-aided design (CAD) data associated with a 3D CAD model, receiving, via the processor, a product and manufacturing information (PMI) data associated with the 3D CAD data, and receiving, via the processor, user input. The method also includes deriving, via the processor, a view of the 3D CAD data based on the received PMI data and the received user input.

  • Patent number: 10831179
Abstract: A system includes a processor for implementing a computer-aided technology (CAx) system, the CAx system including a graphical-user-interface (GUI) that presents a computer-aided design (CAD) model, and the CAD model includes at least one part. Furthermore, the system includes memory storing instructions that cause the processor to present the GUI, receive, via the GUI, at least one indication of an association type and an indication of at least one criteria corresponding to the at least one indication of the association type, iterate the model to identify at least one second feature that satisfies the association type and the criteria, associate and store product and manufacturing information (PMI) with the at least one second feature, generating a PMI association, and display a PMI object of the at least one second feature on the CAD model in the GUI, the PMI object including the PMI.

  • Publication number: 20180349518
Abstract: In one embodiment, a computer-aided technology (CAx) system includes a memory storing an inspection system. The CAx system further includes a processor communicatively coupled to the memory and configured to execute the inspection system to receive a computer aided design (CAD) model of a part design as input. The processor is additionally configured to execute the inspection system to provide a list of definitions included in the CAD model, and to iterate through the list to select a sublist of definitions for inspection. The processor is also configured to execute the inspection system to create an inspection model based on the sublist of definitions, and to create an inspection code, wherein the inspection code comprises instructions executable via an automated inspection system.

  • Publication number: 20180322222
Abstract: A tangible, non-transitory, computer-readable medium, including computer-readable instructions that, when executed by one or more processors of a computer, cause the one or more processors to generate a first digital product definition associated with a computer-aided design (CAD) model.

  • Publication number: 20180314408
Abstract: A tangible, non-transitory, machine-readable medium comprising instructions configured to cause a processor to access data related to one or more views of a computer-aided design (CAD) model. The instructions are also configured to cause the processor to derive a graph based on the accessed data. The graph includes one or more graph elements. Additionally, the instructions are also configured to cause the processor to receive user input indicative of a request to manipulate a graph element of the one or more graph elements and derive a new view of the CAD model based on the user input.

  • Publication number: 20180314767
Abstract: In one embodiment, a computer-aided technology (CAx) system includes a memory storing a characteristic accountability and verification (eCAV) system. The CAx system further includes a processor communicatively coupled to the memory and configured to execute the eCAV system to receive a computer aided design (CAD) model of a part design as input. The processor is additionally configured to execute the eCAV system to add a callout data to the CAD model based on a product and manufacturing information (PMI) data related to the part design. The processor is also configured to execute the eCAV system to link the callout data to the PMI data.
