Abstract: An off-road vehicle has: a frame including a rollover protection structure; two front wheels operatively connected to the frame; two rear wheels operatively connected to the frame; at least one seat supported by the frame; an internal combustion engine supported by the frame, being disposed rearward of the at least one seat, and being operatively connected at least one of: the two rear wheels, and the two front wheels; an engine air intake system fluidly connected to the engine for supplying air to the engine; and an air intake conduit having a conduit inlet and a conduit outlet, the conduit outlet being fluidly connected to the engine air intake system for supplying air to the engine air intake system, the conduit inlet being disposed at least in part vertically higher than the rollover protection structure.

Abstract: A neural network system includes a random access memory (RAM); and an index-based weightless neural network with a columnar topography; wherein patterns of binary connections and values of output nodes' activities are stored in the RAM. Information is processed by pattern recognition using the neural network by storing a plurality of output patterns to be recognized in a pattern index; accepting an input pattern and dividing the input pattern into a plurality of components; and processing each component according to the pattern index to identify a recognized output pattern corresponding to the input pattern.

Abstract: A device for shaping the cross-section of a light beam, has at least one beam shaping unit with a beam splitter, beam deflector and beam combiner. The beam splitter can split a light beam which is incident on the beam shaping unit into two partial beams. The beam deflector can deflect at least one of the partial beams onto the beam combiner which can combine the two partial beams in such a manner that the cross-section of the light beam emerging from the beam shaping unit is reduced in size in one direction compared to the light beam incident on the beam shaping unit. The beam combiner is a polarisation-selective beam splitting and beam combination unit that comprises at least two elements with an interface interposed in between. The two split partial beams can be incident on the interface from different directions.

Abstract: The invention relates to an assembly for correcting laser illumination emitted from a laser light source, comprising a laser light source, which has linear emission sources that are arranged in a row in a first direction (X), whereby in addition, the emission sources that are arranged essentially in a row are at least partially offset relative to the row in a perpendicular direction (Y) in relation to the first direction (X). The assembly also comprises corrective elements, which can correct the laser illumination emitted from the laser light source in such a way that the spatial distortion of the laser illumination, caused by the offset position of the emission sources relative to the row, is compensated. According to the invention, the corrective elements are configured as a plate array that comprises a number of plate elements consisting of substantially plane-parallel plates that are transparent to the laser illumination used.
