    Abstract: Methods, systems, and storage media for reserving radio resources for sidelink (SL) vehicle-to-everything (V2X) transmissions are described. In embodiments, a user equipment may select to create an SL grant when a configuration indicates to transmit SL transmissions based on sensing using indicated resources. And when a number of consecutive unused transmission opportunities on the indicated resources is equal to a configured value, the UE may release all currently reserved radio resources, set a resource reservation interval, and select a set of resources spaced by the resource reservation interval as reserved resources for transmission of the one or more sidelink transmissions. In addition, the configured NR DL PRS Resource Set may be assigned to a separate Transmission Reception Point (TRP). Furthermore, a list of configured NR DL PRS Resource Sets can be assigned to a separate TRP. The assigned NR DL PRS Resource Set may include PRS Resources with different spatial filters. In addition, the assigned NR DL PRS Resource Set can include PRS Resources with the same spatial filter.

    Abstract: Embodiments of a Machine Type Communication User Equipment (MTC UE), Next Generation Node-B (gNB) and methods of communication are generally described herein. The MTC UE may determine a system timing based on reception of a primary synchronization signal (PSS) and a secondary synchronization signal (SSS). The MTC UE may receive, from the gNB, radio resource control (RRC) signaling that indicates one or more parameters of a configurable resynchronization signal (RSS). The RSS may be for resynchronization, by the MTC UE, after the MTC UE awakens from a power save mode. The parameters of the RSS in the RRC signaling may depend on a target coverage of the MTC UE. The MTC UE may determine an updated system timing based on reception of the RSS.

    Abstract: Embodiments of a Next Generation Node-B (gNB) and User Equipment (UE) are generally described herein. The gNB may transmit control signaling to configure transmission of position reference signals (PRSs) by a plurality of transmit-receive points (TRPs). The gNB may receive, from the UE, for each of the TRPs, a set of signal location parameters (SLPs). The gNB may perform an iterative process to estimate a position of the UE. For a current iteration, the gNB may: determine a current estimate of the position of the UE based on a current plurality of sets of SLPs; and determine a cost function for each of the current plurality of sets of SLPs. The gNB may determine, based on the cost functions, a next plurality of sets of SLPs for a next estimate of the position of the UE.

The processing circuitry is to determine a first PRS BW associated with a first PRS received from a first gNB associated with a first cell. A second PRS BW is determined, which is associated with a second PRS received from a second gNB of a second cell. An RSTD report resolution is determined based on the first PRS BW and the second PRS BW. A receive (Rx) timing difference between the first cell and the second cell is measured based on reception times of the first PRS and the second PRS. The measured Rx timing difference is mapped into an RSTD report for transmission to the first gNB, based on the RSTD report resolution.

    Abstract: Technology for an apparatus of a user equipment (UE) configured to select spectrum resources in a vehicle to vehicle (V2V) communication system is disclosed. It relies on the established mechanisms for device-todevice, D2D direct mode communication well-known in the context of Proximity Services in a 3GPP LTE communications system. The UE can calculate a received energy in a physical sidelink shared channel (PSSCH) over a sensing period for a portion of one or more sub-channels over selected subframes in a resource pool, by means of measurements of Received Signal Strength Indication, RSSI, of other D2D sidelink channel communications. The UE can identify the one or more sub-channels over the selected subframes that has a measured energy level greater than a threshold value to determine a channel congestion fraction (CCF) comprising a fraction of the resources that exceed the threshold value, reflecting a resource utilization.
