Publication number: 20160223113Abstract: A tubular coupling comprising a first component (1) having a tubular male spigot (2) with a headed formation (3) on the outside thereof and extending towards one of its ends and a second component (5) has a socket for receiving the headed formation on the tubular male spigot in releasable manner. The second component has a flow passage (6) communicating with the socket generally collinearly with the tubular male spigot in the installed position. A seat (7) is provided in the inner surface of the socket so that it encircles an opening (8) where it communicates with the socket and the tubular male spigot has a resilient seal (9) for sealing an adjacent end of the tubular male spigot to the flow passage. The headed formation and socket are shaped to provide guide surfaces enabling introduction of the headed formation into the socket with the axis of the tubular male spigot extending transverse, typically at right angles, to the axis of a flow passage in the second component.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 10, 2014Publication date: August 4, 2016Applicant: Inspired Designs LimitedInventors: Alexis Adrian Felipe WADMAN,, Hendrikus Johannes Van der Meijden

Patent number: 9045914Abstract: A net for use with a pool cleaning system includes a net material portion and a frame body. The frame body has a flexible inner frame portion providing structural support but deformable when pressed against a surface, and an outer, flexible rim portion that is more malleable than the flexible inner frame portion and configured to provide a flexible rim edge for scooping.Type: GrantFiled: November 17, 2009Date of Patent: June 2, 2015Assignee: RED LEOPARD, LLCInventors: Hendrikus Johannes Van Der Meijden, Alexis Adrian Felipe Wadman, Robin Owen Ellis

Patent number: 8728406Abstract: Dispensers, principally of water-treatment chemicals, are detailed. The floating dispensers may be inherently unstable in use, rotating approximately ninety degrees (from a generally vertical position to a generally horizontal one) over the useful lifespan of the chemicals initially contained within. Movement of the dispensers to horizontal positions signals users to replace the depleted chemicals. The dispensers also may be stacked into smaller volumes for transit and storage and need not include a separate component for flow adjustment. Rotation of its components additionally may create a “dial-a-dosage” feature of the dispenser, effectively varying depletion rate of the chemicals contained therein.Type: GrantFiled: October 6, 2010Date of Patent: May 20, 2014Inventors: Hendrikus Johannes Van Der Meijden, Alexis Adrian Felipe Wadman, Robin Owen Ellis

Publication number: 20100122949Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide new design innovations that significantly improve the performance of the currently-available pool accessories. Each element of the system has unique features that provide benefits in use, although is some instances, maximum benefit is provided when all the elements are used as one cohesive system.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 17, 2009Publication date: May 20, 2010Inventors: Hendrikus Johannes Van Der Meijden, Alexis Adrian Felipe Wadman, Robin Owen Ellis

Patent number: 7618019Abstract: Devices for cleaning vessels, especially swimming pools, are discussed. The devices may include a non-linear flow path in a gap surrounding an in-line valve. This non-linearity permits lengths of concentric pipes forming the gap to be decreased without sacrificing operational performance of the devices. Valves forming parts of the cleaning devices may be diaphragms but shaped, sized, reinforced, or configured differently than existing valves and may have collapsible segments whose interior shape resembles an ellipse in transverse cross-section. Co-molding of diaphragms and pipes may occur, and inner and outer cups may be used to fix relative positions of various components of the devices.Type: GrantFiled: January 28, 2008Date of Patent: November 17, 2009Assignee: Zodiac Pool Care Europe, SASInventors: Hendrikus Johannes van der Meijden, Michael Edward Moore, Peter Hugh Harrison, Alexis Adrian Felipe Wadman, Mark J. Patent number: 7039980Abstract: A push side pool cleaner (1) has a spheroidal overall shape, within this shape two outer segments (9, 10) serve as wheels and a central zone (8) carries a suction passage (33) and a debris collector (32) also located entirely within the overall shape. The wheels are driven directly by water jets (44, 45) without any gears or other transmission. A flow splitter is provided in the cleaner (1) to divide push side water flow between the jets (44, 45) which drive the wheels and jets (43) which provide impulsion to the suction passage (33).Type: GrantFiled: March 13, 2003Date of Patent: May 9, 2006Assignee: Zodiac Pool Care, Inc.Inventors: Hendrikus Johannes Van Der Meyden, Alexis Adrian Felipe Wadman, Michael Edward Moore
