  • Patent number: 4694767
Abstract: Apparatus for transferring a fabric strip 12 from a deposit station 10 to a support base 16 includes a plate 24 having a stop ledge 28 abutting an end of the fabric strip 12. A bar 34 projects through an opening 30 in plate 24 to create a fold in the fabric strip 12. A thin plate 66 retracts against a ledge 52 to grasp the fabric strip 12. Then, the transfer clamp 14 is rotated into a position such that the plate 66 lies flush with the support base 16. The transfer clamp releases the folded fabric strip 12 in a position where it is then fed into the sewing machine 22 together with the fabric piece 18 when they are sewn together.

  • Patent number: 4434731
Abstract: The arrangement comprises a sewing apparatus which is partially supported below a material-supporting table and which partially extends through an opening above the table surface. Control means are provided to control the operation of the sewing apparatus as well as to feed the material to be sewn along each direction in which a seam is to be formed. Sensing means are provided to sense the fact that a seam has been completed. Also, means are provided which clamp the material to the table after each seam is sewn. The control means further include means to rotate the sewing apparatus and align it in such a way that when the material is again fed to the sewing apparatus, the latter sews a successive seam along a different selected direction.

  • Patent number: 4241677
Abstract: The invention provides a twin-needle sewing machine for stagger sewing, wherein a needle bar is angularly adjustable transversely to its longitudinal axis and is so guided as to be longitudinally displaceable in an angularly adjustable holder. Herewith, two needles may be placed in a plane extendable parallel to the obliquely extending edge of the material part to be sewn on. With the obliquely cut-up material part fed with the material part to be sewn on, at the start of the sewing, both needles will penetrate simultaneously into the material part to be sewn on. Even in the case of obliquely running-on or feeding material pieces, sewing can be effected in a locking manner.
