  • Patent number: 4486234
Abstract: Fiber material usable as reinforcement and/or stiffening material in conjunction with the use of an organic or an inorganic binder in the construction industry, comprising organic fibers selected from vegetable fibers, animal fibers, and organic chemical fibers and a tertiary phosphate attached to the organic fibers.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 17, 1982
Date of Patent: December 4, 1984
    Inventor: Alfons K. Herr
  • Patent number: 4352719
Abstract: A method for producing fire retardant or non-combustible fibrous products. Fibrous organic or inorganic materials, or a mixture thereof, are processed into a slurry, which is then intimately mixed with a boron-containing mineral and a mineral acid. The mixture is allowed to ripen, and is fed into a sheet forming and dewatering apparatus to form a dewatered, fibrous web, which is dried to form the fibrous product.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 2, 1981
Date of Patent: October 5, 1982
    Assignee: Kataflox Patentverwaltungsgesellschaft mbH
    Inventor: Alfons K. Herr
  • Patent number: 4311554
Abstract: An incombustible material containing at least one mineral substance, and including a first ingredient composed of a plurality of pieces constituted by fibers of cellulose and/or chips of wood shavings, with the pieces forming a network, a mass of thermosetting synthetic resin gluing the pieces of the first ingredient together, and particles of calcium sulfate, boric acid and an at least partially glass or ceramic forming mineral adhering to the fibers and/or chips.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 12, 1979
Date of Patent: January 19, 1982
    Assignee: KATAFLOX Patentverwaltungsgesellschaft mbH.
    Inventor: Alfons K. Herr
  • Patent number: 4285842
Abstract: A method for producing a fibrous fire protection agent composed of a fibrous material with boric acid particles adhering to its surface, by providing a mass of such fibrous material having a moisture content of up to 80 percent by weight, intimately mixing in a mixer that mass of material with a quantity of powdered boron mineral material, spraying a quantity of concentrated sulfuric acid into the mixer during the mixing step to form a granulate, feeding the resulting granulate onto an evaporation line, and withdrawing the granulate from the evaporation line and comminuting the granulate in an impact pulverizer to form it into the fibrous fire protection agent.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 17, 1979
Date of Patent: August 25, 1981
    Assignee: Kataflox Patentverwaltungs-Gesellschaft mbH
    Inventor: Alfons K. Herr
