At least one roller pair extending transversely to a longitudinal axis of the combine harvester separates the crop stream. A first roller and a second roller of the roller pair have a relative speed with respect to one another.

The rotary separator's discharge area is built such that the quality of the chopped crops is improved and a continuous discharge of crops is guaranteed. Guiding devices in the area of the axial-flow chopping device and on the inside of the housing's cover are designed such that the half of the guiding devices which are located in front of the chopping knives are essentially perpendicular to the pivotal axis of the rotary separator. In the area of the chopping knives, the housing is designed as a swiveling shutter so that the annular gap, located between the rotary separator and the housing, can be narrowed by the swiveling shutter.

    Abstract: In a combine harvester comprising a separating device which operates by the axial flow method, a chopping device which operates by the axial flow method designed in such a way that the components of the separating rotor's chopping device can be replaced in a very simple manner and are kept to a minimum. In the combine harvester according to the invention, the impact teeth, arranged in a spirally or helically extending row, form a one-piece impact tooth functional part which can be replaced as one single piece. One-piece filler bodies located between the individual rows of impact teeth are provided with cutting channels which are entered by the chopper blades on rotation of the rotor. The impact teeth are also provided with cutting grooves to reduce the length of the chopped material. The combine harvester is particularly designed for harvesting cereal.

    Abstract: A straw or chaff chopper attachment for a combine has at least one delivery funnel which can be fixed in place on the outlet hood of the combine, a cup-shaped rotor housing disposed under the delivery funnel, and an ejection chute connected with the rotor housing. The cup-shaped rotor housing is disposed underneath the delivery funnel and is capable of being pivoted back and forth around a vertical pivot axis (6) on a shaft (7). A chopping and ejection unit (8) disposed in the cup-shaped rotor housing (4), which rotates around the shaft (7), which extends coaxially with the vertical pivot axis (6) and chops the material and ejects it at the same time. A pair of the delivery funnels may be coupled for axial rotation about respective vertical pivot axes such that their respective ejection chutes move together.
