  • Patent number: 11804234
Abstract: A method for enhancing telephone speech signals based on Deep Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) is disclosed. The method is able to reduce the effect of acoustic distortions in daily scenarios during a telephone call. It is a single-channel, speech-oriented method with causal design and low latency. The novelty lies in the noise reduction method which, based on the classical gain method, uses a CNN to learn the Wiener estimator. Then, it computes the gain of the filter to enhance the speech power over the noise power for each time-frequency component of the signal. The selection of the Wiener gain estimator as an essential element of the method, decreases the vulnerability to estimation errors since the characteristics of this measure make it very appropriate to be estimated by deep learning approaches.

  • Patent number: 11744969
Abstract: A ventilator apparatus includes a linear electro-mechanical actuator that interfaces with a self-inflating bag including an inlet configured to receive air and an outlet configured to expend the air. A three-way valve is coupled to the outlet via a first flowmeter, an ambient environment via a second flowmeter, and a patient via an endotracheal tube. The first and/or second flowmeters are coupled to pressure transducer(s). A control unit is coupled to the linear electro-mechanical actuator and the first and second flowmeters and includes a control panel, memory including programmed instructions stored thereon, and processor(s) configured to execute the stored programmed instructions to set an inhalation time and an exhalation time. A current inspiratory pressure and a current tidal volume are obtained from the pressure transducer(s) and/or the first flowmeter. A stroke of the linear electro-mechanical actuator is then controlled to facilitate inspiratory and expiratory phases of a respiratory cycle.

Abstract: A system and a method are provided for cooling devices and recovering waste heat. A plurality of heat absorption devices in direct or indirect thermal contact with a plurality electronic devices, and comprise channels to receive an evaporable working liquid, which becomes a first 2-phase mixture having a first liquid portion and a first vapor portion upon absorption of heat from the devices. At least one compressor compresses the first vapor portion to form a compressed vapor having elevated pressure and temperature. At least one heat exchanger condenses the compressed vapor to liquid so as to release the heat. An expansion device is used to expand the liquid to provide a second 2-phase mixture comprising a second liquid portion and a second vapor portion. In at least one vapor-liquid separator, the first liquid portion and the second liquid portion are fed back to the plurality of heat absorption devices. • Patent number: 7360309
Abstract: A heat exchanger device includes an extruded body that includes one or more layers of channels for coolant flow therethrough, the channels generally having inner diameters of between about 50 microns to about 2000 microns. The device is formed of a material having a high thermal conductivity to facilitate transfer of heat from the heating components present in the subject cooling application to the coolant passing through the heat exchanger and to be compatible with materials of the heating components. The device material is selected from the group consisting of ceramic oxides, ceramic carbides, ceramic nitrides, ceramic borides, ceramic silicides, metals, and intermetallics, and combinations thereof. The heat exchanger device is formed from an extruded filament that is arranged to give the desired channel configuration.
