  • Publication number: 20130177718
Abstract: An artificial turf surface comprised of natural looking fibrous materials is coated with special heat reflecting materials that do not alter the appearance of the fibers, but reflect unwanted heat. Both turf blades and beads can be coated. A process and method is also described in which artificial turf can be cleaned and coated in the field after installation and specially coated, flexible mini beads can be added as filler.

  • Patent number: 7109009
Abstract: Novel genes have been isolated which encode cytochrome P450 and NADPH reductase enzymes of the ?-hydroxylase complex of C. tropicalis 20336. Vectors including these genes, transfected host cells and transformed host cells are provided. Methods of producing of cytochrome P450 and NADPH reductase enzymes are also provided which involve transforming a host cell with a gene encoding these enzymes and culturing the cells. Methods of increasing the production of a dicarboxylic acid and methods of increasing production of the aforementioned enzymes are also provided which involve increasing in the host cell the number of genes encoding these enzymes. A method for discriminating members of a gene family by quantifying the expression of genes is also provided.

  • Publication number: 20050115298
Abstract: A toothed rack is formed by shaping a rod-shaped blank in a noncutting fashion. For this purpose, two shaping tools are provided, specifically an upper die and a lower die. Negative teeth are provided in the upper die, and in contrast a negative back (that is to say a bed for the back—having a round section—of the toothed rack) is provided in the lower die. Viewed in cross-section through the upper die, the negative teeth extend on both sides as far as into the regions of the lateral burrs which are formed during the shaping process. As a result, the ends of the teeth which are not completely shaped may be removed, together with the lateral burrs, after the shaping process (for example, by milling).

  • Patent number: 6870518
Abstract: A method for controlling two monitors on the basis of an input-side pixel data stream, in which one part of each line of the input-side pixel data stream is displayed on one of the monitors and another part of the line is displayed on another of the monitors, comprises the storing of one part of the line of the input-side pixel data stream in one FIFO memory device and the storing of the other part of the line of the input-side pixel data stream in another FIFO memory device. The readout of one FIFO memory device takes place with the pixel frequency with which one monitor is operated while the readout of the other FIFO memory device takes place with the pixel frequency with which the other monitor is operated. Thus, a moderately priced and high speed monitor control circuit is realized.

  • Patent number: 6826945
Abstract: A technique for manufacturing a gear rack (5) for a rack-and-pinion steering gear for automobiles makes use of a blank (18) for the gear rack (5) having at least in the latter's toothed area a form deviating from a circular cylinder. Size and form of the cross-section of the blank (18) are selected in a manner that the contour of the finished gear rack (5) in the toothed area (7) does not project beyond the envelope given by the dimensions of neighboring parts of the rack-and-pinion steering gear. The gear rack (5) is formed from the blank (18) by means of tumble-forging. After tumble-forging, the gear rack (5) in its toothed area (7) outside the toothed section has a convex or concave longitudinal profile, which serves to support the tumbling torques during tumble-forging.

  • Patent number: 6601428
Abstract: A method for producing a blank for a gear rack for rack-and-pinion steering of motor vehicles includes the following steps: In a first step, a starting material having an essentially circular cross-section is placed into a stamping apparatus containing at least three form tools movable relatively to one another. In a second step, at least one force in at least one direction is exerted upon at least one of the form tools, the form tools moving relative to one another by this force, so that the starting material is reformed into a blank for the gear rack. At least in the axial region of the tooth system of the gear rack to be formed, the blank is provided with a shape differing from a circular cylinder. Using this method, part of the material of the starting material is displaced on one side from the middle into the region of the tooth system to be formed, without having much strain-hardening occur in this region. This makes subsequent production processes easier.
