  • Publication number: 20240346440
Abstract: An inventory tracking system includes storage modules that hold one or more items. Each item is positionable at locations within the storage modules independent of physical characteristics of the item. Inventory monitoring modules are included to monitor storage modules for adding an item, retrieving an item, consuming of the item, returning an unused item, discarding at least a portion of a consumed item, or combinations thereof. Each act is used to determine information about items utilized in the act, including the location within the storage modules of the items. Each storage module updates a central inventory database about a location of the storage module, a revised inventory of the items stored within the storage modules, or both. The location of the storage modules, the revised inventory of the items stored within the storage modules, or both, is used to order a replenishment of the items held within the storage modules.

  • Publication number: 20200264209
Abstract: Wind speed and direction experienced by the UAV at altitude is determined by placing an accelerometer, gyroscope and compass on the UAV. A change in velocity experienced by the UAV is determined by the accelerometer. An orientation relative to a reference plane and an angular velocity experienced by the UAV is determined by the gyroscope. A magnetic bearing of the UAV is determined with the compass. A roll and pitch exhibited by the UAV is determined as a function of the change in velocity, orientation and change in angular velocity. Projected roll and projected pitch vectors onto a horizontal plane cutting through the center of rotation of the UAV are determined as a function of the roll and the pitch. The wind speed of the wind experienced by the UAV is determined as a function of the projected roll vector and projected pitch vector. The wind direction is determined as a function of the projected roll vector and projected pitch vector and the magnetic bearing of the UAV.

  • Patent number: 10365663
Abstract: An unmanned aerial vehicle has a substrate. A tether sensor is mounted on the substrate. The tether sensor determines an orientation of the tether relative to the substrate. A micro controller, receiving the measured orientation from the tether sensor, determines an orientation of the tether relative to the substrate, and as a function of the orientation, determines a corrective value and outputs the corrective value to the unmanned aerial vehicle as at least one of a roll output and a pitch output control signal.

  • Patent number: 10054943
Abstract: A UAV has two rotors. First and second sensors sense a first and second type of input respectively. The second type of input is different than the first type, the first sensor providing a first sensor output and the second sensor providing a second sensor output. The first sensor output is input to a first computer and the second sensor output is input to a second computer. The first and second computer communicate in parallel to process the first and second sensor outputs to create a control signal having a predetermined number of variables therein, each variable having an exclusive position within the signal. The first computer outputs a first variable and the second computer outputs a second variable, each output being assigned an exclusive position within the control signal. At least one of the first and second computers outputting the control signal to the rotors.

  • Publication number: 20160259333
Abstract: A system for landing a vertical take-off and landing aircraft includes a vertical take-off and landing aircraft, the aircraft having a light signal emitter. A landing station, has a camera including a lens for receiving the light signal emitted from the vertical take-off and landing aircraft. The landing station determines a normal line to the lens. The vertical take-off and landing aircraft communicates with the base The base receives the light signal at the camera and determines a lateral distance between the normal line and the aircraft. The landing station sends a control signal to the aircraft causing the aircraft to reduce the lateral distance between the aircraft and the normal line.

  • Patent number: 8918523
Abstract: A graphical user interface (GUI) is disclosed that allows a user to identify routers, communities, residents and media aggregation managers existing on a network. The user may interactively select a path that includes two media aggregation managers and at least one router. The GUI predicts scheduled bandwidth utilization along the selected path for a variety of residents wishing to communicate across the path. The GUI may be utilized for initializing all media aggregation managers on the network along with provisioning each of the routers on the selected path. The GUI provisions all of the routers and initializes all of the media aggregation managers on the selected path simultaneously in order to accomplish the predicted schedule of usage provided by the GUI to the user and force all communication packets communicated between the residents to travel along the selected path.
