Abstract: The invention refers to a machine tool for the machining of one or more work pieces, wherein the work piece is held indirectly or directly by a clamping device in the machine tool on or at a non-rotary work piece table or a work piece table rotating around at least one axis. The invention is characterized in that the clamping device comprises at least one clamping element interacting indirectly or directly with the work piece, and an electric motor is provided for generating the clamping power that is in operative connection with the clamping element.

Abstract: The invention refers to a clamping device and a method for clamping an article, wherein a clamping means connected with the article interacts with clamping elements of the clamping device by a clamping motion for the releasable clamping of the article, and the at least one clamping element can be moved by a clamping drive along a clamping direction, and additionally the clamping element is movable in a compensation direction differing from the clamping direction, in order to allow centering and afterwards clamping of the article.

Abstract: A machine tool for machining work pieces. It has a machining tool. This is held in a tool mount. For that a tool clamping device is provided. An electric motor serves for generating the clamping power, or at least one means driven by the electric motor acts on a spring arrangement for effecting the release of the machining tool from the tool clamping device.
