  • Patent number: 5906095
Abstract: In a method of operating a power station plant, which essentially comprises a gas-turbine group, a waste-heat steam generator and a steam cycle, at least one portion of the steam (15, 29, 44) generated indirectly or directly in the waste-heat steam generator (14) is used for cooling thermally loaded structures of the gas-turbine group, this steam being at a varying preparation stage: the superheated steam (15) cools the structures (21, 25) on the high-pressure side, and the intermediate-pressure steam (29) and the flash steam (44) cool the structures (32, 36, 46) of the gas-turbine group which are on the low-pressure side. After cooling is effected, the respective cooling-steam quantity (22, 26; 33, 37) is directed into a working-air flow (3, 6; 8, 11) of the gas-turbine process.

  • Patent number: 5674066
Abstract: The invention relates to a burner (1) which is operated with a lean gas (8) (LBTU gas) and comprises at least two hollow, conical partial bodies (2, 3) which are nested in one another in the direction of flow. By offsetting the longitudinal axes of symmetry (2a, 3a) relative to one another, tangential ducts (2b, 3b) are formed through which combustion air (4) flows into the conical cavity (5). Parallel to these ducts (2b, 3b) there are further ducts (6, 7), formed by dividing walls (6a, 7a), through which the-lean gas (8) likewise flows into the conical cavity (5) at a similar rate to the combustion air (4).

  • Patent number: 5313782
Abstract: In a combined gas/steam power station plant which consists essentially of a fossil-fired gas turbine group and a steam circuit, with an exhaust heat boiler (11) in between, intercooling and reheat are provided to maximize the efficiency. The gas turbine group consists of two compressors (1, 2), of two combustion chambers (7, 9) and of two turbines (8, 10). Downstream of the first compressor (1), there is an intercooler (3) and on the cool side of this is placed an evaporator (4) which is in effective connection with the intercooler. The steam quantity formed in the evaporator (4) is introduced into a turbine (6) of the steam circuit, the result of this being a first improvement in efficiency. Downstream of the first turbine (8), there is a second combustion chamber (9) in which the exhaust gases from the first turbine (8) are processed to produce hot gases for the second turbine (10) .

  • Patent number: 4267738
Abstract: A turning device preferably for turbine-machines is disclosed having a turning-gear pinion arranged on a cam so that the axes of rotation of the cam, the turning-gear pinion and the shaft to be turned are aligned in a central line. To turn the shaft, the turning-gear pinion is caused to engage a toothed ring of the shaft by a hydraulic piston acting on the cam. The turning-gear piston is then held in the engaged position by a spring-loaded pressure cylinder which engages a catch of the cam. When a certain speed has been reached, or when the shaft is turning backward, the spring loaded pressure cylinder becomes disengaged from the catch and the turning-gear pinion swings out sideways.
