    Abstract: An integral ballistic shield formed of ballistic material is provided with a central portion and side portions to provide front and partial side ballistic protection. A support extends from the backside of the shield adjacent a truncated V-groove opening through the upper edge of the shield. The support includes a handle for simultaneously grasping the grip of a long gun with one hand, enabling the individual to support the shield and the long gun by the one hand. The individual's opposite hand is free to operate the long gun. Thus, the hand that supports the shield also supports the long gun.

The individual's opposite hand is free to operate the long gun. A strap is connected to the shield and carried by the individual in he hand supporting the shield and the long gun. Thus, the hand that supports the shield also supports the long gun.
