  • Patent number: 5268634
Abstract: An electro-optical control system having a multi-key keypad, an alpha-numeric display, means for periodically generating a pulsed light beam, means for detecting a portion of the light beam to generate an analog signal, means for converting the analog signal to a digital signal and means for subtracting an ambient light level form the digital data to generate a difference signal. The difference signal is averaged and filtered to generate a digital signal level which is displayed on the alpha-numeric display. The electro-optical control system has two output switches which are activated when digital signal level is between programmed upper and lower limits for each output switch. The values of the upper and lower limits are programmable using the keypad. The upper and lower limits are displayed on the alpha-numeric display as they are generated.

  • Patent number: 4776204
Abstract: A probe device is disclosed for checking threaded bores in a workpiece to detect various abnormal conditions including a broken tool or probe, absence of the workpiece or bore, or the threaded condition of the bore. The probe is affixed to a transversely mounted piston which is actuated by air pressure to move the probe sideways during a phase of the probing action in which a probe tip is moved against the surface to be tested, blockage of an air outlet occurring if the surface is unthreaded. The resulting increase in air pressure is detected by a pressure switch to enable operation of a fault signal. The probe tip is slidably mounted in the main body of the probe to be moved back as the probe is advanced towards the workpiece in the initial phase of the test if a bore is absent or a broken tool is lodged therein, with porting shutting off air flow to the tip air outlet to also cause an increase in back pressure enabling generation of a fault signal.

  • Patent number: 4722219
Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for automatically compensating for the effects of variations in ambient trace gas levels or other causes of drift in trace gas leak detection testing, by generating a stored reference signal corresponding to the trace gas sensor output signal, freezing the reference signal at the beginning of each test and summing the output signal with the frozen reference signal to create a compensated output signal which is then compared with a preset threshold signal to trigger a reject during a given test. The uncompensated output signal is also continuously compared with a preset signal value and the test disabled if the output signal exceeds the preset signal at the beginning of each test.

  • Patent number: 4249171
Abstract: A cathode-ray oscilloscope controlled by a circuitry receiving four (4) voltage inputs representative of the Cartesian coordinates of endpoints of two (2) vectors, for visually displaying the vectors in the form of a dashed line segment and a solid line segment. The circuity responds to operator input for generating display signals to rotate the two displayed vectors with respect to the CRT screen and responds to internal control for blinking the display of either of the vectors according to a preset vector magnitude limit.
