  • Publication number: 20020192221
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for treating a tumor that contains fibrin. The method comprises utilizing an energy from an energy source to destroy at least a portion of (i) a fibrin contained in the tumor or (ii) fibrin surrounded tumor. The energy may also cause necrosis of tumor cells that are adjacent to the fibrin. The method further include the use of a tumor-targeting monoclonal antibody conjugated to a toxin which is administered to the subject. The present invention also relates to a method for removing and killing fibrin-associated tumor cells from a mixed cell population, which method includes the step of delivering an energy from an energy source to the fibrin-associated tumor cells and killing the tumor cells with a tumor-targeting monoclonal antibody conjugated to a toxin.

  • Patent number: 4133019
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a three-element gas tube fail-safe station protector of known design modified to incorporate a back-up air gap system. To the ground terminal stud of the protector is added a lateral conductive member defining a pair of blade-shaped ground electrodes. To each of the line electrode terminal studs is added a conductive blade-shaped electrode which overlaps and is spaced from a respective one of the ground electrodes. The air gaps which are thus defined between ground and each line, i.e. paralleling the gas tube gaps, are encapsulated and dimensioned to provide back-up ionization in the event of a failure of the gas tube.
