  • Patent number: 7765086
Abstract: A modulation domain trigger generator demodulates a modulated input signal to extract information content, and a trigger is generated from the extracted information content in response to specified trigger criteria. The modulation domain trigger generator may be combined with a plurality of different types of trigger generators, including frequency domain and time domain trigger generators, to process the input signal in response to different trigger criteria to produce more than one trigger. The different trigger outputs may be combined to produce an acquisition trigger to acquire data surrounding an anomalous or identifiable event within the input signal.

  • Patent number: 7352827
Abstract: An instrumentation receiver for multichannel simultaneously realtime spectrum analysis with frequency trigger offset inputs a wideband IF signal derived from a wideband RF signal by the receiver to both a wideband IF channel and a narrowband IF channel simultaneously. The wideband IF signal output from the wideband IF channel is sampled at a high sample rate with relatively low resolution to produce wideband signal data. The wideband IF signal input to the narrowband IF channel is frequency offset by a variable amount according to a region in the wideband IF signal where a frequency trigger event is expected and then narrowband filtered to produce a narrowband IF signal. The narrowband IF signal is sampled at a relatively low sample rate with high resolution to produce high dynamic range signal data for input to a frequency trigger function.

  • Patent number: 4593242
Abstract: In accordance with the present invention, a control circuit for operating a delayed sweep oscilloscope includes a reversible counter which may be selectively incremented or decremented to establish a number of trigger-circuit operating functions and modes, such as trigger source selection, coupling, level, and sweep mode. A plurality of light sources behind a plastic overlay laminated to the front panel indicate the various functions and modes.

  • Patent number: 4001559
Abstract: A communications line under test intercouples programmable local units, one of which transmits an analog waveform to the other in response to digital control signals received from a computer. The receiving programmable local unit transmits a digital signal to the computer representative of the received analog signal to thereby enable the computer to determine transmission characteristics of the communications line intercoupling the programmable local units.
