  • Patent number: 8918255
Abstract: A method for preventing a collision of a vehicle involves continuously detecting an operation of a brake pedal of the vehicle and concluding a risk of collision if the brake pedal is operated quickly. A position and a movement of objects in the vehicle surroundings relative to the vehicle are detected and evaluated regarding the risk of collision. When a risk of collision has been detected, an evasion maneuver of the vehicle is automatically carried out, if the evaluation of the risk of collision reveals that a collision can be prevented by an evasion maneuver but not by a braking manoeuvre.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 15, 2011
Date of Patent: December 23, 2014
    Assignee: Daimler AG

  • Patent number: 8452545
Abstract: A method and system is disclosed that enables a less error-prone and preferably automatic assignment of pre-prandial and post-prandial blood glucose values associated with a meal to improve determining the difference between pre-prandial and post-prandial blood glucose measurements as follows. Blood glucose measurements are read and provided with a relative or absolute time mark and labeled as pre-prandial and reading out post-prandial blood glucose measurements provided with a relative or absolute time mark from the memory of a blood glucose measuring instrument. The chronological sequence of the blood glucose measurements labeled as pre-prandial are determined. The post-prandial blood glucose measurements that correspond to each of the pre-prandial blood glucose measurements are determined by applying a time selection criterion. The difference between corresponding pre-prandial and post-prandial blood glucose measurements is determined.

  • Patent number: 6078852
Abstract: Administering of wake times in an interconnected assembly of several control devices and a time base control device is performed by transmitting by each control device a timely next wake time to the time base control device, comparing the transmitted wake times with one another, storing a timely next wake time by the time base control device, and upon reaching the stored wake time, transmitting by the time control device an actual time to the control devices.

  • Patent number: 5839409
Abstract: A method for determining an additional injected quantity upon reactivation of an internal combustion engine by multiplying a load-dependent wall-film quantity by a correction factor. The correction factor is modulated up during the coasting deactivation time until reactivation with a first time constant. The correction factor is modulated back down during reactivation with a second time constant.
