  • Patent number: 5714180
Abstract: Double closing unit of an injection molding machine has a pair of movable mold mounting plates and a stationary mold mounting plate having a pair of stationary mold faces, aligned between the pair of movable mold mounting plates. Two pairs of bar members and a pair of locking units are provided so that each locking unit couples one of the pair of movable mold mounting plates to one of the pairs of bar members. A pair of pressure cushion systems located in the stationary mold mounting plate are each connected to one of the pair of movable mold mounting plates, the pair of pressure cushion systems being independent of each other. At least one pair of fast-motion cylinders is also provided, at least one cylinder being connected between each movable mold mounting plate and the stationary mold mounting plate. The cylinders hold one of the movable mold mounting plates in a closed position when the other movable mold mounting plate is in an open position.

  • Patent number: 5556656
Abstract: An injection moulding machine has a framework (1), a fixed and a movable die platen (2, 8) and at least a piston-cylinder unit of a cylinder platen (3) that bears a hydraulic or electromechanical closure mechanism. The cylinder platen (3) and the fixed die platen (2) are interconnected only by the framework (1). The closure force exerted during injection moulding and the vertical thrust between the cylinder platen (3) and the die platen (2) are transmitted only through the framework (1). The intersection between the longitudinal center axis (LSK) of the closing die (5) and the longitudinal center axis (LBF) of the die platen (8) lies at the back of the movable die platen (8) and the point at which the force of the closing die (5) is transmitted to the movable die platen (8) is vertically displaceable in relation to the die platen (8).

  • Patent number: 5141682
Abstract: A method for supplying a selected quantity of gas to the mold of an injection molding machine utilizes two high pressure gas bottles which are connected through a pressure reducing valve to a piston reservoir for receiving a quality of the gas. The piston reservoir is hydraulically powered to supply the gas to a further piston reservoir having a smaller volume which is connected through a valve to the mold. The second piston reservoir is also hydraulically powered for supplying a selected quality of gas under a variable pressure to the mold. Gas from the mold is recycled to both reservoirs in steps.

  • Patent number: 4902454
Abstract: A process for tempering tools, for use on the form tools of extrusion forming machines. In the injection molding tools there are conduction circuits for a coolant which are connected to ducts for the inflow and backflow of the coolant. Valves (4) control the throughflow of the coolant. There are temperature sensors (5, 6) in the ducts for the inflow and backflow of the coolant. The temperature sensors (5, 6) are connected to a computer (7) which controls the opening and closing times of the valves (4) as a function of a nominal difference fed in between the inflow and backflow temperatures of the coolant. Advantageously, a temperature sensor (3) which is also connected to the computer (7) is provided on the form tool.

  • Patent number: 4758389
Abstract: Described is a method of controlling the mold filling process of a plastics injection molding wherein, for the purposes of avoiding fluctuations in the mass of the moldings, due to material not being of a uniform quality, the change-over point between the filling phase and the back-pressure phase is shifted by a predetermined value in dependence on the injection work which is detected during the filling phase.
