  • Publication number: 20150189351
Abstract: Television is the largest advertising category in the United States with over 65 billion spent by advertisers per year. A variety of different targeting algorithms are compared, ranging from the traditional age-gender targeting methods employed based on Nielsen ratings, to new approaches that attempt to target high probability buyers using Set Top Box data. The performance of these different algorithms on a real television campaign is shown, and the advantages and limitations of each method are discussed. In contrast to other theoretical work, all methods presented herein are compatible with targeting the existing 115 million Television households in the United States and are implementable on current television delivery systems.

  • Patent number: 7976339
Abstract: Connectors for interconnecting a coaxial cable to an electrical device are disclosed. The connector has an internal body and an external body which are assembled together, and which can be activated to clamp upon and seal to an inserted coaxial cable. The external body includes a bushing made from a transparent, semi-transparent, or translucent material. In some embodiments, the bushing further includes a deformable inner collar that permits the connector to be attached and sealed to cables of varying thickness as are found on common single shield cable, tri-shield cable and quad-shield cable.

  • Patent number: 7664023
Abstract: A method includes advertising a policy characterizing communication properties supported by a node. The policy may be distributed to another node in response to a request for the policy. Policy expressions in the policy include one or more assertions that may be grouped and related to each other in a plurality of ways. A system includes a policy generator for generating at least one policy characterizing properties of a node. A policy retriever retrieves a policy from another node and a message generator generates a message to the other node, wherein the message conforms to the policy from the other node.

  • Patent number: 7664828
Abstract: Implementations are described and claimed herein to detect an invalid policy that may reside in a cache at a client. An expired policy is removed from cache and a current policy is requested. Otherwise the cached policy may be used. The client indicates which policy it is using by generating a policy digest, including, in compressed form, one or more assertions. If the host determines the policy digest is invalid, the host issues an invalid digest fault. If the policy digest is valid, but the assertions included in the policy digest are invalid, the host issues an invalid policy fault. In either case, the client is notified that the cached policy is no longer valid and that a current policy should be requested.

  • Patent number: 7496649
Abstract: A method includes retrieving an intermediate node policy characterizing communication properties supported by an intermediate node, the intermediate node being between a source node and a destination node in a communication path. The method includes forming a first policy-compliant message in accordance with the intermediate node policy, the first policy-compliant message including a request for a destination node policy characterizing communication properties supported by the destination node. A system includes a policy retriever comparing a source policy to one to an intermediate policy to determine whether the source policy is compatible with the intermediate policy. A message generator generates a policy request message by applying the intermediate policy to a request for a policy related to a destination node.

  • Publication number: 20070022164
Abstract: The present invention extends to methods, systems, and computer program products for relaying messages through firewalls. A message relay negotiates first communication parameters with relay components inside a firewall and (potentially different) second communication parameters with applications outside the firewall. The message relay receives a message from an outside application in accordance with the second negotiated parameters and maps an electronic address in the received message to an inside application. The message relay transforms the message and sends the transformed message over an established connection through the firewall to a relay component in accordance with the first negotiated parameters. The relay component receives the transformed message and transforms the transformed message back into the message. The relay component delivers the message to the inside application in accordance with the second negotiated parameters.

  • Publication number: 20060230432
Abstract: The present invention provide for an algebraic mapping of a policy expression from a compact to a normalized form, both in Boolean and set formulations. The policy algebra is defined in such a way that policy alternatives within the normalized expression will be the same across equivalent compact expressions—regardless of how the assertions are arbitrarily constrained or what operators are used to constrain such equivalent expressions. Moreover, the present invention also provides a model for identifying alternatives that are equivalent by comparing only the root element names or QName of each assertion within an alternative. In addition, embodiments as described herein can utilize the identification of equivalent alternatives in order to create an intersection policy expression to limit alternatives of admissible behavior to those in common across both endpoints.

  • Publication number: 20060173854
Abstract: A listener operating in user-mode can dispatch control of a client connection to a listener without exposing system memory or other sensitive services or components. For example, a client component requests access to a network component through connection with a user-mode listener. Based on information contained in the client request, the listener passes a call to an application program interface, which returns a first set of data that includes user-mode contextual information. The listener passes this first set of data to the requested network component. Another call is made to an application program interface, which includes the first set of data, and a request for socket duplication. The application program interface returns control of the requested socket to the network component, such that the network component and the client component communicate directly through the requested socket in user-mode.

  • Publication number: 20060174011
Abstract: Preserving session state correlation in a distributed computing environment in which a service module instance receives messages from a general input buffer. The general input buffer is not accessed by a service module instance one the service module instance is determined to be recycled. After the service module instance receives a session initiation message through the general input buffer, a session-oriented input buffer is associated with the service module instance. Any subsequent session messages are then received by the service module via the session-oriented input buffer. Even if the service module instance was determined to be recycled mid-session, the service module instance would still operate to process all of the remaining session messages from the session input buffer, thereby preserving session continuity.

  • Publication number: 20060150200
Abstract: A web services namespace pertains to an infrastructure for enabling creation of a wide variety of applications. The infrastructure provides a foundation for building message-based applications of various scale and complexity. The infrastructure or framework provides APIs for basic messaging, secure messaging, reliable messaging and transacted messaging. In some embodiments, the associated APIs are factored into a hierarchy of namespaces in a manner that balances utility, usability, extensibility and versionability.

  • Patent number: 6978596
Abstract: A 13 mm transitional modular Italian charm link capable of connecting to smaller 9mm charm links and/or other 13 mm charm links in various combinations. Charm links connect to one another using a spring loaded hook and post combination with the hook element emanating from the charm face to maintain the continuity of the bracelet but the hook elements of existing charm links do not properly mate with charm links of a different size. The present invention provides a charm link that may be configured in any of three configurations having a transitional hook and/or transitional post to accommodate charm links of a smaller width.
