Patent number: 8662576Abstract: A body for a motor vehicle and a method for producing a motor vehicle body is provided. Such a body comprises two roof frame longitudinal profiles (6, 14), at least one roof frame cross profile (10) arranged between the roof frame longitudinal profiles (6, 14) and a body pillar (12), wherein in a connecting area (Y) a roof frame longitudinal profile (6; 14), a roof frame cross profile (10) and the body pillar (12) are connected or can be connected together using a mechanical connection. Here the roof frame longitudinal profile (6; 14) comprises a recess (16) in the connecting area (Y), as seen in a longitudinal section of the roof frame longitudinal profile (6; 14), the recess accommodating the roof frame cross profile (10), at least some areas of the circumferential contour of the profile being adapted to match the recess (16).Type: GrantFiled: June 8, 2011Date of Patent: March 4, 2014Assignee: ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe AGInventors: Alfred Lösch, Helmut Mebus, Axel Grüneklee, Joachim Quandt, Clemens Latuske

Patent number: 7201435Abstract: A roof module for a motor vehicle body (3) includes a reinforcing frame (2) and a roof panel (1) that is fastened thereto. The reinforcing frame (2) can be fastened to the motor vehicle body (3) by screw connections (8) and adhesive bonds (5). A roof module, which is both prefabricated with all accessories as well as painted and which can be placed onto the motor vehicle body (3) during final assembly is provided with the reinforcing frame (2) or the roof panel (1) having, on the edge thereof, a folded flange (11), which is shaped so that it has a U-shaped profile (12). An edge strip (10, 13) of the roof panel (1) or of the reinforcing frame (2) engages inside the U-shaped profile (12) and is bonded therein to the reinforcing frame (2) or to the roof panel (1). The roof module is larger in a vertical projection than a roof opening in the motor vehicle body (3).Type: GrantFiled: February 22, 2003Date of Patent: April 10, 2007Assignee: Thyssenkrupp Drauz Nothelfer GmbHInventor: Alfred Lösch

Patent number: 7086265Abstract: A method for controlling the material flow during the deep-drawing of sheet metal involves compressing the edges of the sheet metal (1) between at least one upper stopper (13) and at least one lower stopper (6, 7) during the deep-drawing process, with a controllable elastic force (8, 9). A corresponding deep-drawing tool is also provided. A Z-shaped blocking step (11) is stamped into the edge (1a) of the sheet metal when the upper and lower stoppers (13, 6, 7) are closed, the basic shape is then produced by deep-drawing, maintaining the blocking step (11) and completely blocking the sheet metal between the stoppers. The sheet metal (1) is outwardly stretched, and the blocking step (11) is then reduced in terms of height, facilitating the outward displacement of the sheet metal towards the outside. The deep-drawing tool has a lower stopper including an inner stopper (6) and an outer stopper (7).Type: GrantFiled: June 14, 2003Date of Patent: August 8, 2006Assignee: Nothelfer GmbHInventor: Alfred Lösch

Publication number: 20060024472Abstract: A connection of the edges of formed sheets, preferably of a door outer sheet (1) to a door inner sheet and/or a connecting sheet (2) is provided, wherein the edges of the sheets have at least partly planar contact surfaces and may be detachably connected to one another. Provisions are made for the areas of the edges of the sheets lying on top of each other to have strips, straps (3) and/or flanges (4) bent inwardly and/or at least in the same direction for the detachable connection of the sheets by means of screw connections (5) and/or clamping strips (7-11).Type: ApplicationFiled: June 14, 2003Publication date: February 2, 2006Inventor: Alfred Losch
