    Abstract: Alignment device for connecting optical waveguide fibers wherein the ends of the fibers are inserted in a V-shaped groove in the device and clamped in place. The object of the invention is to produce a proper connection of the fiber ends, by technically simple and economical means, the correctness of which connection can be observed visually at any time, i.e. during and particularly after the formation of the connection.
