  • Patent number: 4569653
Abstract: Lighter of the disposable type having a bottle opener, for bottles with crown-corks (bottle caps), which is attached to the said lighter.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 22, 1984
Date of Patent: February 11, 1986

  • Patent number: 4430060
Abstract: A lighter has a housing formed with a flame opening, a fuel supply for feeding fuel to a point at which a flame is formed in the opening, a friction wheel mounted on the housing, and a first guide formed in the housing along a radius of the wheel, a flint being provided in the first guide and being displaceable therein for engagement with the wheel adjacent the point. A second guide is formed in the housing parallel to the first guide and offset therefrom, the second guide being provided with a flint spring. A displaceable offset pushrod is provided between the flint and the spring, the pushrod having a first portion extending into the first guide and engaging the flint and a second portion extending into the second guide and engaging the spring, the first and second portions being joined by a third portion lying substantially perpendicular to the first and second portions.

  • Patent number: 4419073
Abstract: A gas lighter emits a flame angled away from an ignition device thereof, the lighter having a gas tank provided with a burner tube centered on an upright axis and formed at the upper end thereof with a flat collar lying transverse to the axis and a flat annular seal provided on an upper surface of the collar. A stamped burner cap is provided at the upper end of the burner tube enclosing the seal, the cap having an upwardly converging conical portion centered on the axis and surrounded by a flat base portion lying parallel to the collar and bearing on an upper surface of the seal, the base portion having a downwardly extending skirt lying parallel to the axis and surrounding the collar, the skirt being formed with inwardly bent shoulders engaging beneath a lower surface of the collar, the conical portion of the cap being formed with a gas orifice at an angle to the axis.

  • Patent number: 4352658
Abstract: A gas lighter has a pistol-shaped casing that contains a gas cartridge in line with a mouthpiece which simulates a muzzle and forms a hood overhanging a striker wheel coacting with a spring-pressed flint. The striker wheel is clamped between cheeks of a reel which is eccentrically linked with a slider having an actuator in the shape of a trigger and trigger guard, the latter being articulated to a toggle joint urged by a transverse spring into a nearly straight-line position whereby a squeezing of the trigger results in an accelerating rotation of the wheel against the flint. The slider also opens a shut-off valve at the cartridge to allow the outflow of gas which is ignited by sparks from the flint hurled toward the hood.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: October 5, 1982
