  • Patent number: 6660132
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for carrying out photochemical and thermochemical solar syntheses by means of flat-bed solar light collectors without devices for focusing the sunlight. The method is particularly well suited for producing flavors, aromas and complex thereof. The flat-bed solar light collector is suitable especially for producing steroids and derivatives thereof. It can further be used for the photooxidation (photooxygenation) of terpene olefins and therefore for the synthesis of fragrants such as rose oxide, myrtenol and myrtenal which are of industrial interest. The solar collector is also suitable for photochemical addition reactions and rearrangements.

  • Patent number: 4829772
Abstract: A method of storing and transforming heat and of generating cold by means of two metal-hydride and metal-hydrogen systems operating in conjunction in closed circulation at different temperatures. Magnesium hydride, especially active magnesium hydride, is employed as a high-temperature hydride. A hydride with a hydrogen-dissociation pressure that is lower than that of the magnesium hydride subject to the conditions of thermal dissociation and higher than that of the magnesium hydride during its recovery is employed as a low-temperature hydride.

  • Patent number: 4421156
Abstract: A process for the optimized heat transfer from carriers of reversible, heterogeneous evaporation processes for the purpose of generating heat and cold by means of the principle of the heat pipe is described, which comprises arranging the carrier of the reversible, heterogeneous evaporation process in the interior of a heat pipe. Moreover, this application describes the apparatus for carrying out the process in which a heat pipe is provided with a heat source at the bottom and with a heat sink at the top and exhibits a carrier of a reversible, heterogeneous evaporation process and a feed line and discharge line for the gas of the reversible, heterogeneous evaporation process.

  • Patent number: 4301965
Abstract: The heat collector system comprises a heat collector connected to a heat p. The heat collector has an inlet conduit and contains a heat transmitting fluid and is effective to take radiation heat from the environment. The heat collector has a structural configuration effective to additionally absorb convection heat as a convector which causes a good heat transmission between the ambient air and the heat transmitting fluid. A rated and controlled cooling device is connected to the heat conduit of the heat collector. The cooling device is effective to supply fluid to the heat collector at a temperature below the temperature of the ambient air. Further features of the invention include a regulating device effective to regulate the difference in temperature between the temperature of the ambient air and the cooling temperature.
