  • Patent number: 10166596
Abstract: The invention relates to a forging apparatus, comprising forging rams (4) that are guided in the direction of stroke and accommodate forging tools (3), and lifting drives (7) which can be driven by a shaft (10) and which are supported in a non-positive manner on an abutment (12) of the forging rams (4) held under pretension in contact on the lifting drives (7). In order to provide simple constructional conditions it is proposed that the shafts (10) of the lifting drives (7) comprise two drive cams (11) which are angularly offset by 180° in relation to each other, are centrally symmetric with respect to the shaft axis, and cooperate with the abutments (12) of the forging rams (4).

  • Patent number: 6308552
Abstract: A forging machine (1) comprises eccentric-driven connecting rods (6), which are vertically movably guided in a forging box (3) radial to the eccentric shaft axis (E), and for a drive connection have a connecting rod small end (12) with a sliding surface at their end facing the eccentric for a non-rotating sliding cooperation with a bearing body (13) rotatably seated at the eccentric (11). To achieve a rugged and nevertheless simple adjustment of the vertical position, the sliding surface (20) of the connecting rod small end (12) forms a sliding path (G) normal to the axial plane defined by the eccentric shaft axis (E) and the connecting rod axis (P) and inclined with respect to the eccentric shaft axis (E), and via an actuator (22) the bearing body (13) forming a corresponding inclined surface (21) is movably arranged relative to the connecting rod (6) firmly supported in the direction of the eccentric shaft axis.

  • Patent number: 5857378
Abstract: For controlling the stroke frequency of a forging machine (1), which comprises a mechanical stroke drive (3) for the stroke movement of the forging punch (2) and a hydraulic drive connection (4) between stroke drive (3) and forging punch (2), the rotational speed of the stroke drive (3) is adjusted to a high stroke frequency of the forging punch (2), and for reducing the stroke frequency the hydraulic pressure of the drive connection (4) is decreased for periodically succeeding drive strokes in accordance with the drive-related increase with constant rotational speed of the drive (3), while at the same time the forging punch (2) is preferably blocked in the vicinity of the upper dead center. For this purpose, the drive connection (4) is connected to an accumulator (20) via a control valve (23) to be actuated in dependence on the stroke movement.

  • Patent number: 5609056
Abstract: A swaging machine is provided with connecting rod-like swaging hammers, which are driven by eccentrics and radially guided in a machine frame with respect to the axis of the eccentric shaft and for a driving connection are provided at that end which faces the eccentric with a sliding surface in sliding contact with a slide ring that surrounds and is rotatably mounted on the eccentric. A particularly simple design of the machine is achieved in that radially inner end of the hammer and the slide ring are merely non-positively coupled and a compression spring means supported against the machine frame apply pressure to the swaging hammer and urge the sliding surface at the radially inner end of the hammer against the slide ring.
