Abstract: An apparatus assembly for monitoring the rehydration kinetics of dehydrated products has an enclosure formed by a cage for holding the products and by a cover for the cage surmounted by a hollowed rod. In use, the enclosure is connected via the rod with the pan of a balance so that it is suspended over the balance pan. The lattice-work of the side portion of the cage is configured so that when the cage is immersed in water, the lattice-work allows water to pass therethrough but prevents air from escaping from the cage through the lattice-work.

Abstract: A selective herbicidal composition for controlling grasses and weeds in crops of useful plants comprises a herbicidally effective amount of an N-benzoyl-phenylalanine herbicide and an effective amount of a herbicide antagonist of the formula: ##STR1## wherein X is hydrogen or halogen, A is --CH.sub.2 --, --CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.2 --, or --CH(CH.sub.3)--, and Z is cyano, an amidoxime group, an acylamidoxime group, or a carboxylic acid group or derivative thereof, or A-Z taken together is a tetrahydrofuran-2-one group.

Abstract: The present invention relates to the novel use of antidotes of formula I ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl or C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 cycloalkyl, and each of R.sup.2 and R.sup.3, independently of the other, is hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkyl, trifluoromethyl or cyclopropyl, with the proviso that only one of the symbols R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 may be hydrogen, for protecting cultivated plants from the phytotoxic action of herbicides. The invention relates also to novel compounds and the preparation thereof and to novel intermediates and the preparation thereof. The invention further relates to herbicidal composition that contain a combination of herbicide and antidote and to corresponding method of controlling weeds. Finally, the invention relates also to the seeds of cultivated plants protected by the treatment with the antidote.
