Abstract: Expandable bag assemblies and associated methods are disclosed herein. Certain aspects of the invention are directed toward an expandable bag assembly that includes a flexible bag with closed and open ends and collapsible sidewalls disposed between the ends. The assembly beneficially includes an integrated support structure provided with stiffeners and a mechanism for attachment to help hold a mouth of the bag in an open position while filling the bag. The assembly can be compressed for easy packaging and storage and be expanded into a self-supported, open position without memory folds. The assembly is also configured to retract during closure of the open end of the bag.

Abstract: A device is disclosed for holding open the mouth of a bag. The device comprises a strip of light weight, generally stiff material having a predetermined length generally corresponding to the circumference of the mouth of the bag. The strip of material has a predetermined height and a predetermined thickness which is sufficient to provide vertical support. The strip of material is secured around a surface of the bag proximate to the mouth of the bag, such that when the bag is placed on a supporting surface, the strip of material supports and maintains the mouth of the bag in an open condition.

Abstract: A protective insert for a drawer having a plurality of sidewalls which are interconnected by a bottom wall is comprised of a generally continuous, generally tubular frame. The frame is formed of a plurality of interconnected, generally flat panels, the number of panels corresponding to the number of sidewalls of the drawer. Each of the frame panels is sized and shaped to conform to and to engage and cover at least a portion of an interior surface of the sidewalls of a corresponding one of the drawer. A flexible liner extends between each of the panels of the frame to engage and cover at least a substantial portion of the bottom wall of the drawer. In this manner, the frame retains the liner in place within the drawer such that the combination of the liner and the frame cover and protect at least a substantial portion of the interior surfaces of the drawer. In one embodiment, the frame is adjustable to fit drawers of different sizes and the liner is a sheet of polymeric material.

Abstract: A beverage bag having a porous holder for receiving a beverage making component and a tab secured to the porous holder is disclosed. The tab comprises a first and a second layer. While the first layer is impervious to liquids, the second layer, secured to the first layer is formed of a moisture absorbent material. The first and second layers form a butler for receiving the porous holder after the beverage has been made. Initially, the tab is folded to the size and shape of a standard tab, and is thereafter unfold-able to form the butler which is sized to receive the porous holder.
