In such systems and techniques, a portion of one or more displays of an electronic gaming machine that is used to display all or part of a virtual button deck may be transitioned between two graphical states—one in which parameter controls are in default positions and enabled for selection by users, and the other in which such controls are minimized or hidden and their parameter functionality is disabled or otherwise non-usable by users.

Abstract: Various gaming tournament-related techniques and systems for providing for game-of-chance gaming tournaments are disclosed, including techniques relating to criteria-based award of plays and/or perks for use in a particular tournament. Abstract: A game instance outcome is determined for a hybrid game based on an RNG-based outcome and a physics-based outcome. The technique includes determining, based on a first random number generator specific to a local terminal, a first die outcome. In addition, an indication of a community die outcome for the local terminal and one or more additional terminals in a bank of terminals are received. The community die outcome is determined from sensing an outcome of a physical manipulation of the community die. A combination of the first die outcome and the community die outcome is applied to an outcome data structure to determine an outcome value for the game instance, and the outcome value for the game instance is presented on a display device.

One or more portions of the display screen is removed, such that a variety of shapes can result from one or more cuts in the screen. In some examples, two or more notched display screens are arranged to provide a common and/or coordinated display. In some examples, a void from the removed portions can be used to present a feature, such as a mechanical reel.

The system (a) begins a game cycle for a game instance of the communal game; (b) receives, from a first device and in response to detecting the trigger condition, a communal participation trigger message; (c) awards a participation entry in the game cycle to the player; (d) transmits, to the first device, a participation award message indicating successfully entry of the player in the game cycle; (e) conducts the communal game, thereby generating an award outcome of the communal game for the player; and (f) awards the player based on the generated award outcome.
