Patent number: 4296712Abstract: A boiler provided with a burner chamber for a burner firing system and a combustion chamber for a solid fuel firing system, both chambers being arranged horizontally side by side in a common boiler water space enclosed by a horizontal outer boiler body. The combustion chamber has an approximately elliptical cross-section with vertical major diameter and the burner chamber has a round cross-section, the longitudinal center lines of both chambers being substantially at the same level. Both chambers are connected at their front ends with two separate horizontal ancillary heating passages extending axially parallel above the chambers within the boiler water space and having rectangular cross-sections with horizontal major cross-sectional dimensions and with internal comb-like ribbings. The outer boiler body is made of a metal sheet shaped in one piece by rolling into a hollow body of non-circular roundish cross-section.Type: GrantFiled: March 27, 1980Date of Patent: October 27, 1981Assignee: Hoval Interliz AGInventor: Alfred Vogt

Patent number: 4208654Abstract: A remote control transmitter for transmitting remote control signals which omprise an alternating sequence of two chronologically successive pulses having a first and a second frequency, respectively. The transmitter comprises a plurality of manually-operable command keys for supplying a command signal upon operation, an encoding circuit for supplying the command signal in logic form, a pulse generator having outputs which are the logic inverse of one another, a transmitting circuit for transmitting a signal dependent upon the logic signal supplied at its inputs, and a matrix of coupling points. Each coupling point is connected by a resistance element to a respective encoding circuit output, by a diode of predetermined polarity to a pulse generator output, and to a respective transmitting circuit input.Type: GrantFiled: August 17, 1978Date of Patent: June 17, 1980Assignee: Preh, Electrofeinmechanische Werke, Jakob Preh Nachf GmbH & Co.Inventors: Alfred Vogt, Bernd Veith, Anton Ruttiger

Patent number: 4198620Abstract: Apparatus for receiving remote control signals which comprise an alternat sequence of two chronologically successive pulses, the first pulse having a first predetermined frequency and the second pulse having a second frequency manually selected from a predetermined number of frequencies, each of the predetermined number of frequencies representing a command to be carried out. The receiver comprises a signal detector, a signal amplifier and a circuit for decoding the remote control signal into a group signal dependent on the first frequency and a command signal dependent on the second frequency. A controllable gate is provided for gating the command signal from the decoding circuit to a command signal register having a command signal input for each of the commands, and an input for blocking each command signal output. Means coupled to the command signal outputs implement the commands.Type: GrantFiled: August 17, 1978Date of Patent: April 15, 1980Assignee: Preh, Elektrofeinmechanische Werke, Jakob Preh Nachf GmbH & Co.Inventors: Alfred Vogt, Bernd Veith, Anton Ruttiger

Patent number: 4147134Abstract: A boiler having a hot gas generator for burning liquid or gaseous fuels. The hot gas generator comprises a combustion chamber unit, into the combustion chamber of which the fuel and air for combustion are introduced and in which the combustion of the fuel takes place. The combustion gases are conveyed out of the combustion chamber into a water cooled boiler firebox. A compressor supplies the air for combustion into the combustion chamber unit. A flue gas conduit, which leads to the flue gas vent of the boiler, at its inlet end, which is connected with the boiler firebox, is connected with the air intake of the compressor of the hot gas generator for recirculating a regulatable amount of flue gases into the combustion chamber unit of the hot gas generator. The flue gas conduit offers a resistance to the flow of flue gas therein, which resistance is greater than the chimney draft force present in the flue gas vent of the boiler.Type: GrantFiled: November 4, 1977Date of Patent: April 3, 1979Assignee: Interliz AnstaltInventors: Alfred Vogt, Wolfgang Kunkel

Patent number: 4052001Abstract: The water for a central heating system is supplied with thermal energy in a boiler equipped with an oil burner and with a thermostatically controlled mixing valve that mixes the water heated in the boiler with water from a return line by-passing the boiler to maintain a desired temperature in the heating fluid. A secondary heat source (heat pump, wood-burning boiler, solar unit) is connected to the by-pass and automatically actuated when it can effectively relieve the oil burning boiler.Type: GrantFiled: September 15, 1976Date of Patent: October 4, 1977Assignee: Interliz AnstaltInventor: Alfred Vogt

Patent number: 4024502Abstract: An apparatus for remotely controlling one or more power units including a transmitter which produces an optical pulse train having a frequency varied by an astable multivibrator controlled by keys which connect different resistances into the astable circuit, and one or more receivers. Each receiver receives the optical pulses, converts them to electrical pulses, divides the frequency, counts the electrical pulses, provides an analog output from the counter and compares that analog output with a saw tooth periodic waveform to control circuit elements which in turn control conduction through the power unit.Type: GrantFiled: October 23, 1975Date of Patent: May 17, 1977Assignee: Preh Elektrofeinmechanische Werke, Jakob Preh Nachf.Inventors: Helmut Eberwein, Alfred Vogt, Paul Greb

Patent number: 4019679Abstract: A heating arrangement, in which the circulating heat transfer medium for radiators is heated by condensation of a refrigerant in a heat pump, is controlled by relays in the energizing circuits of the several, independently driven pumping units of the compressor in the heat pump in response to the difference between the temperature of the atmosphere outside the heated area and the temperature of the circulating heat transfer medium to reduce the pumping energy consumed in response to the rising temperature of the heat transfer medium, and thereby to improve the efficiency of the heating arrangement.Type: GrantFiled: December 15, 1975Date of Patent: April 26, 1977Assignee: Interliz AnstaltInventors: Alfred Vogt, Herbert Bolter

Patent number: 4012189Abstract: A hot gas generator for the production of hot combustion gases includes a cylindrical combustion chamber having an inner and an outer air conduit concentrically disposed thereabout. A fuel nozzle means is arranged at one longitudinal end of the cylindrical combustion chamber and an exhaust port is arranged at the other longitudinal end thereof. A baffle plate is disposed on the longitudinal end of the cylindrical combustion chamber on which the fuel nozzle means is arranged. Combustion air from a blower or the like flows through the outer air conduit into the inner conduit where it is heated by the cylindrical combustion chamber and then passes through openings in the baffle plate into the cylindrical combustion chamber.Type: GrantFiled: November 13, 1975Date of Patent: March 15, 1977Assignee: Interliz AnstaltInventors: Alfred Vogt, Hans Mueller
