Patent number: 7669646Abstract: A plate heat exchanger includes a heat exchanger block having a plurality of heat exchange passages. On the heat exchanger block, a header is mounted that extends over at least one part of one side of the heat exchanger block and establishes a flow connection between the heat exchange passages. The plate heat exchanger is provided with a fluid connection, which is formed by the header-side end of a pipeline. The fluid connection is essentially perpendicular to the side of the heat exchanger block over which the header extends. Within the pipeline directly in front of the header, there is a flow guide.Type: GrantFiled: October 31, 2006Date of Patent: March 2, 2010Assignee: Linde AktiengesellschaftInventors: Herbert Aigner, Gabriele Engl, Thomas Hecht, Helge Möbus, Stefan Möller, Wolfgang Süssmann, Alfred Wanner

Publication number: 20080041713Abstract: A method and apparatus for the variable extraction of a pressurized product by low-temperature gas fractionation in a distillation column system, is disclosed. Feed gas is cooled and taken to the distillation column system. A product stream is removed from the distillation column system. The product stream is brought to a high pressure in a liquid state. The product stream is evaporated or pseudo-evaporated at the high pressure through indirect heat exchange with a heat carrier stream. The heat carrier stream is at least partially condensed or pseudo-condensed in the indirect heat exchange. The evaporated, or pseudo-evaporated, product stream is removed in variable quantity as pressurized product. The quantity of heat transferred in the indirect heat exchange is balanced. From this balance, a target value for the volume of at least one of the streams involved in the indirect heat exchange is calculated. This target value is adjusted as part of forward feed control.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 15, 2007Publication date: February 21, 2008Applicant: Linde AktiengesellschaftInventors: Ulrich EWERT, Alfred Wanner

Publication number: 20070137844Abstract: In a plate heat exchanger having a heat exchanger block (1) with a number of heat exchange passages and a header (2) attached to the heat exchanger block, the header providing a flow connection between a portion of the heat exchange passages and a fluid connection (3), the header is defined by a cylinder jacket segment-shaped wall (7) and by a flat surface (12), which runs parallel to the axis of the cylinder (13) on a side (5) of the heat exchanger block. The length of the header extends over at least one portion of a side (5) of the heat exchanger block. At least one wall (7) of the header is connected to the side (5) of the heat exchanger block. The header is designed so that the axis (13) of the cylinder runs inside the header spaced at a distance (11) from the flat surface (12).Type: ApplicationFiled: December 1, 2006Publication date: June 21, 2007Inventors: Herbert Aigner, Gabriele Engl, Thomas Hecht, Stefan Moller, Wolfgang Sussmann, Alfred Wanner

Publication number: 20070044507Abstract: The process is used for the recovery of krypton and/or xenon by low-temperature separation of air. Compressed and purified feed air (1, 1A, 1B, 29) is introduced into a rectification system for nitrogen-oxygen separation, which has a high-pressure column (2) and a low-pressure column (3). An oxygen-rich liquid (42) is removed at a first point from the low-pressure column (3). At least a first portion (43) of the oxygen-rich liquid (42) is re-introduced in the low-pressure column at a second point, whereby a mass exchange section (44) is arranged between the first and second points on the low-pressure column. An additional liquid (35) is drawn off from a third point of the low-pressure column (3), which is arranged at the level of the second point or below it, said liquid introduced into the evaporation chamber of a first condenser-evaporator (4) and partially evaporated there.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 25, 2006Publication date: March 1, 2007Inventor: Alfred Wanner

Patent number: 7152432Abstract: The invention relates to a bath condenser with a condenser block (1) that has evaporation passages (8) for a liquid and liquefaction passages (2) for a heating medium and at least two circulation sections (7) that are located vertically on top of one another. The evaporation passages (8) each have on the lower end of a circulation section (7) at least one entry opening (9) for the liquid and on the upper end of a circulation section (7) at least one exit opening (10), for each circulation section (7) there being a liquid storage tank (15) that is flow-connected to the entry opening (9) and the exit opening (10) of the circulation section (7) and that has a gas offtake (18). The inlet into the gas offtake (18) is not located in the area in front of the side (12) of the circulation section (7) in which the exit opening (10) of the circulation section (7) is located.Type: GrantFiled: May 31, 2001Date of Patent: December 26, 2006Assignee: Linde AGInventors: Alfred Wanner, Horst Corduan, Dietrich Rottmann, Karl Heinrich Schweigert
