    Abstract: A remote cinching actuator, which includes an integral motor wherein its rotation will drive the two stage drive gears system, that are coupled to a cable lever. This cable lever is mechanically attached to a cinch lever within the side door latch by the cable. The lever will rotate on its pivot and move the cinch drive link. A bearing attached to the cinch drive link will move during the cinching operation, traveling through a canal of a cinch override lever, to maintain the traveling course of the cinch drive link and, thereby, allowing the interaction between the cinch drive link and a claw to rotate the claw to its closed/primary position.

    Abstract: A method of writing using a multipurpose keypad that includes alphabetic letters, glyphs, numbers, punctuation marks, typographical symbols, and mathematical symbols. The keypad can be activated by making short traces with a fingertip instead of taping on a touch sensitive screen. The keypad can simultaneously use alphabets of different languages including the alphabets for the blind and visually impaired people. The method of writing enables speeds up the writing process by using a combination of traces to represent syllables or short words in different languages, something like shorthand writing. The method allows the practical use of more than 170 mathematical symbols. Finally, the method can be used in literary work, mathematics, science computer software and other varieties of written materials.

    Abstract: A laparoscopic suturing device that allows the insertion and formation of intracorporeal knots in a safe and speedy manner during laparoscopic procedures. The laparoscopic suturing device includes an ergonomic handle and a long tubular shaft that contains a connecting rod inside. The proximal end of said connecting rod is attached to a deploying knob and its distal end is linked to a movable needle support that contains a suturing needle. The suturing device is inserted into the gas distended abdominal cavity with the needle in a straight position through a laparoscopic cannula and then by moving backwards said deploying knob the needle is deployed in a right angle allowing the insertion of a variety of sutures.     Abstract: An ocean wave-crest powered electrical generator comprises a buoyant vessel anchored to the sea floor by mooring chains. The vessel defines a substantial opening at the bow leading to a paddle wheel such that ocean wave crests flow past the paddle wheel while passing through the generator thereby capturing the power of the continuous wave crests passing through the bow opening. The paddle wheel transforms energy from the breaking wave crests into kinetic energy that in turn activates an electric power generator. The wave crest electrical generator is permanently moored near the beach and allowed to rise and fall with the tide thus allowing for a continuous flow of ocean waves to be converted into power. Pumped storage provides a sustained flow of energy that is easy to regulate and this can be accomplished in combination with “energetic marinas” by constructing a reservoir on top of a near-by cliff, hill or tall building.

    Abstract: An improved composite prosthesis for laparoscopic repair of inguinal or femoral hernias, and also for the laparoscopic repair of large incisional ventral hernias incorporates two different layers, namely an upper layer made of polypropylene mesh to promote tissue ingrowth, and a lower layer formed with an adhesion barrier material to prevent adhesions to the intestines. Both layers are secured together with a highly visible dark seam at the perimeter of the prosthesis to assist the surgeon in visualizing the peripheral edge. The lower layer is slightly larger than the polypropylene mesh so there is an adhesion barrier edge around the prosthesis to conceal the edges of the polypropylene mesh. The upper layer includes a guiding cone to facilitate placement of the prosthesis at the exact center of the hernial defect.
